The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) are expected to haul up Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB), the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) turnkey developer, in relation to the PKFZ scandal.

PAC chairperson Azmi Khalid said the company had been notified to send a representative.

"We may also call the Bar Council to seek clarification as to whether a same lawyer can represent the buyer and seller," said Azmi after listening to statements from Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail during an inquiry with regard to the PKFZ scandal, at the Parliament today.

Azmi said he was satisfied with Abdul Gani's statement during the inquiry that lasted for three and a half hours.

"Just that during implementation, the AG's advice was not followed and at times the AG was not consulted," he said.

Azmi said the committee had also asked the AG about the financial management of the developer and the responsibility of the government as stated in the 'support' letters given by a number of ministers.

Tomorrow, a former secretary general of the transport ministry and a number of finance ministry representatives are expected to give their statements to PAC, he said.

PKFZ, a transshipment hub built on a 405-hectare site in Port Klang which also housed warehouses, office blocks and a four-star hotel, became a subject of controversy after it was exposed that the development cost for it ballooned from RM2.5 billion to RM4.6 billion.

Yesterday, Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairperson Lee Hwa Beng lodged a police report against Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd and BTA Architect, for possible fraud, unsubstantiated claims and alleged over-billing.
