The Raja of Perlis, Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail, is concerned over what he describes as the perpetration of the "divide and rule" policy by certain quarters which can undermine unity among the people.

He said that although these groups were not many, their attempts could have a detrimental effect on the country's efforts to unite the people under the 1Malaysia concept.
