He said he was disappointed that Gerakan "did not have the courage to lift his suspension".
Huan was suspended on June 29, exactly a month after he threatened to quit the party citing disillusionment with the leadership for what he said was a refusal to learn from losing Penang to Pakatan Rakyat in the general election last year.
"I am very disappointed that the party failed to lift my suspension whereas the Umno supreme council has lifted Ahmad Ismail's suspension," he said.
Ahmad, the former Bukit Bendera Umno chief who was suspended for three years in September last year for uttering a racist remark during an election campaign rally, was reinstated by Umno earlier this month.
