Zulkifli Noordin, the Kulim Bandar Baru parliamentarian who was kicked out from his PKR party, said that he would “consider other options” before taking the next step in his political career.

“I would be ashamed in front of Allah and the Muslim community to continue with PKR,” said the lawyer-politician in a blog posting .

He said that he would not appeal the party’s decision to sack him, nor will he resign from his parliamentary seat.

NONE Zulkifli described his sacking as a “black dot” in the history of the reformasi struggle that began on Sept 2, 1998 after then deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim was sacked from government.

“This is also the beginning of the destruction of PKR. Clearly, the struggle to raise the values of humanity, to bring back human rights, and to put in place the universal value of natural justice has been merely false sloganeering.

“This decision also proves that for the small pharoahs who dominate PKR, it is a grave and unforgivable sin for someone to protect and defend Islam."

‘You could be next’

Zulkifli also defended his call for an all-Muslim PKR disciplinary panel to hear his case over a matter that he asserted had to do with his religious beliefs as a Muslim.

“I was only asking that human rights and universal values be abided by, and these values stipulate that a person can only be tried by his own peers. I only asked that the hearing be done by a panel made up of Muslims, because the issue involved the word 'Allah', which is a matter of aqidah (creed), syariah and the religion of Islam.

“To the contrary, they appointed panellists the majority of whom are non-Muslims in order to humiliate me and bring disgrace upon myself and Muslims,” he added.

Expressing his appreciation to colleagues, friends and supporters, Zulkifli went on to warn them that after his ‘victimisation’, they could be next.

“From this day forth, I have become a victim. Tomorrow, it may be your turn, as long as the small pharaohs are allowed to dominate PKR.”
