MIC has opened 73 election operations room to prepare for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election on April 25, said party vice-president Dr S Subramaniam today.

 He said the operations rooms were set up in each MIC branch under the Hulu Selangor division and they were expected to be officially launched after the nomination day on Saturday.

NONE "The MIC election machinery is moving in full gear now in identifying the registered Indian voters in the Hulu Selangor constituency," he said after visiting the houses of Indian voters at Kampung Koskan, Sungai Choh, near here today.

The by-election is called following the death of its incumbent Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad, of Parti Keadilan Rakyat on March 25 due to brain cancer.

Subramaniam, who is human resource minister, said each MIC leader would be in charge of ballot boxes which had a significant number of Indian voters to face the by-election and the Taman Bukit Teratai ballot box would be under his responsibility.

Asked on his visit today, Subramaniam said there were fence-sitters in three to four houses in Kampung Koskan who were still 'undecided' whom to vote for in the by-election.

"We will get back and concentrate on these houses," he said, adding that more than 4,000 MIC members under the Hulu Selangor division were registered voters.
