Former deputy chairperson of the Hulu Selangor MIC division VS Chandran is standing as an independent candidate in the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election on April 25.

The 56-year-old Chandran, currently suspended for one year by the party, said he had already paid the RM5,000 deposit to contest in the election.
