The official car belonging to Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar, which was reported stolen two days ago, was found today.

NONE The jet-black Perdana V6 was discovered on the side of the road in Prima Damansara at 8.45am by police officers who were making their rounds in the area.

According to Oriental Daily , a note was found inside where the car thief had apparently apologised for the inconvenience caused.

The note which was placed on the dashboard of the car says: "Sorry PDRM tesilap sapu" (Sorry PDRM, a mistake).

Shah Alam police chief ACP Nor Azam Jamaluddin, when asked on the condition of the car, said it was not modified nor was the plate number changed.

Khalid’s car disappeared near a restaurant in Section 9, Shah Alam, where his driver was having his breakfast. The Selangor No 1 cop was overseas at that time.

Driver in hot soup

It is learnt that his driver was in hot soup since he is not allowed to drive the car when his boss is not in the country.

The incident had led to a red-faced Khalid saying that his driver was interrogated by his men.

He added that no important documents were left in the car.

NONE Selangor assembly speaker and DAP Sungai Pinang state representative Teng Chang Khim has described the theft as “the greatest disgrace of the year”.

“When the CPO's (chief police officer) official car can be stolen, whose cars are safe in Selangor?” he asked.

Khalid, who has since returned from an overseas meeting, has been using another car from the police force for his official duties.

The police raided a car workshop in a hilly part of Gombak yesterday, where two stolen engines were found.

However, the police denied that the operation was linked to their boss' missing car.

Deputy minister's car stolen

Meanwhile, another Perdana V6 has been reported stolen - this time a deputy minister's personal car.

It was discovered stolen at 7am yesterday.

According to the New Straits Times , the black Perdana fitted with a member of parliament crest on its bumper was discovered missing by the deputy minister’s senior assistant.

The car was parked outside the aide’s house in Taman Kepong.
