Selangor DAP stalwarts Ronnie Liu and Teng Chang Khim, who have been summoned to face the party's disciplinary committee Thursday, are allowed to bring their own witnesses, committee chairperson Tan Kok Wai ( below ) said today.

Liu, a Selangor state executive councillor, was summoned to face the committee over the letters of support controversy.

Teng, the Selangor assembly speaker, was asked to explain his tweet "OMG! Real culprit freed" which he made after the committee announced its decision to sack DAP Selangor secretary Tee Boon Hock for signing a support letter in favour of a company in which his son was a partner.

NONE Tee ( left ), also a Klang councillor, was accused of misusing Liu's letterhead to secure contracts from the Klang Municipal Council for his family members and cronies.

After the sacking, Liu lodged a police report on Aug 2 as he claimed that there had been misuse of letterheads and letters of support without his knowledge.

However, after it was reported that two new letters of support bearing the signatures of Liu had emerged, in addition to the three which Liu had handed over to the police when he lodged a report on Aug 2, he had suspended three of his aides.

NONE According to the report, Liu, the Pandamaran state assemblyman, had maintained that the letters of support were signed without his knowledge while Tee, in an inquiry held on July 31, claimed that the letters were signed with Liu's knowledge.

Besides the duo, the committee has also invited representatives from 15 companies, which had allegedly been awarded state government contracts, to help the committee during its hearing tomorrow.

Besides Tan, the disciplinary committee comprises its deputy chairman and Penang Deputy Chief Minister Dr P Ramasamy, M. Kulasegaran, Lim Hock Seng and Tai Sing Piau.

After the committee's hearing, the DAP central executive committee is scheduled to hold a meeting at the same place, and is expected to discuss, among other things, Tee's appeal against his sacking from the party over the letterhead controversy.
