Was Teoh 'forced to commit suicide'?

Kgen: Although the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is pushing aggressively for suicide, they should note that suicide does not absolve them of blame. A promising young man who is about to get married and has an unborn child does not commit suicide for no reason. MACC must still answer what despicable methods were used on him.

Not that I believe Teoh Beng Hock committed suicide, but suicide will not ‘whitewash’ MACC. The only way to save MACC's reputation is to punish the guilty officers who overstepped the law.

Joe: The Beng Hock 'suicide note' and the banner that incurred the wrath of the Johor sultan have a commonality - the lie they both expose gives away the hand behind the mischief.

Take the Johor banner. Chua Jui Meng is not even a PKR elected representative in Johor, yes? He has not been nominated as a candidate to run in the next election. He is out of favour with the Johor sultan and had his 'datukship' withdrawn recently for no apparent reason - though the most likely explanation is due to his new political ties. His candidature as Johor MB therefore does not arise! Clearly, the banner(s) was planted to smear and discredit Chua and PKR.

As for the 'suicide' note, it makes no sense for someone to want to address his last words to his boss and not to his family and loved ones! For Beng Hock to 'apologise' to his boss and say nothing to his fiancee, who was then bearing his child, and to his family, is unbelievable.

Taken together with the disputed discrepancies in signature and handwriting by his family, it would mark this note as a fake, planted to derail the inquest and get MACC off the hook. The people behind both the false banner and fake note blundered in their stupidity and desperation, giving away their intention.

I'm not suggesting they are the same people but it's the same mindset at work to bring down the Pakatan Rakyat at all cost, by hook or by crook. We see the vicious behaviour of a cornered animal fighting for its life. We are living in dangerous times.

Most Malaysians are just laypersons as far as all these legal procedures are concern but even the most naive will find it hard to accept that a note is found two months later and that it took the Attorney-General’s Chambers so long to finally reveal it. This act is not just negligence, it is gross negligence.

While we are shocked at what appears to be a case of homicide, we should not forget that what is more shameful, and totally unacceptable, is the attempt by certain quarters to shield the perpetrators of the crime, by whatever means they have at their disposal. Just remember they were the same ones who fabricated evidence in the Sodomy 1 trial, and have refused to look for the real killers of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

ONG: It is possible that hand-writing experts may conclude that the note was actually written by TBH. However, combined with the fact that Teoh's signature on the note is different from his normal signature would indicate that Teoh was forced into writing the note by people who were planning to murder him. Teoh could have deliberately signed the note with a signature that is different from his usual signature, which was his way of leaving a clue that he was forced into writing the note.

Good men: What was the case that Teoh was being interrogated all night for? How much did they claim it involved? VK Lingam ‘Correct, correct, correct’ video clearly showed manipulation of judiciary, and how long was he interrogated, exactly? Nothing further, Your Honour.

Abil: It is predetermined conclusion that the suicide note will be accepted by the coroner as this has been well-scripted. And the reason to introduce this so-called new evidence is to favour the MACC. We are wasting our time waiting for this mockery to end so that the Teoh family can start anew.

Teoh's family finds multiple discrepancies in note

What's this?: Suicide people normally leave notes to those dear to him. It doesn't make sense why TBH (Teoh Beng Hock) only left a note to his boss and not to his fiancee, who was also bearing his child, nor his parents.

Anonymous: The inquiry wanted to tell the whole world that TBH had in fact taken his own life and committed suicide - that he was so ashamed because he was investigated for a sum of RM2,400, and not as a suspect but as a witness.

So he had to quickly write the ‘note’ after the interrogation because he could not faced his boss. And therefore, he decided to jump from the window of the MACC tower rather getting engaged the next day. This could be the making of a blockbuster drama in Bodohland.

Kesong Sono: Attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, try something else or something new, as this (suicide note) is not credible. There are too many discrepancies. You didn’t prepare your homework properly. I advise you to read more Agatha Christie’s books.

Bung Moktar escapes jail sentence for polygamy

Don’t Play God: Had it been a PKR or PAS Adun or MP, the courts and the mainstream media would have gleefully made him the criminal of the highest order, and this would appear in our mainstream media (radio and TV included) for weeks on end. And that person would have been fined the maximum and even jailed.

Fair Mind: Bung Moktar Radin, who has committed a wrongdoing and given a light sentence, considered it a blessing by Allah as this came on the first day of Ramadan. “The experience has taught me well. I will continue to serve the constituents.”

The minute he goes back home, he will continue his corrupted ways. Marriage without consent, which caused much sufferings to his first wife and children, is now considered an even lesser evil than drinking a mug of beer - Bung Mokhtar was fined RM1,000 while Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno was sentenced to worse.

According to Umno’s Islam, drinking beer is a no-no for a Muslim, but being a shareholder and director of a company producing beer is okay. Umno Islam has one rule for politicians, another rule for the common Malays. What warped logic is this?

Cala: How can Bung Moktar get away with just a RM 2,000 fine for illegally marrying another woman, while Kartika was made to pay a RM5,000 fine and caned for drinking beer? Surely, this is a public display of two sets of law in Bolehland.

But remember also the words (something to do with "bocor") Bung Moktar uttered in Parliament that set women up in arms against him? By the look of things, Umnoputras have little respect for our women. I say he has to come out in the open and apologise.

Concerned Citizen: Bung Moktar should have been heavily fined or jailed for his disrespect to the law. He is a lawmaker, a member of parliament! He must do good and be seen to do good, which includes the respecting the law. Do not field him next round, BN, or you’ll lose more seats.

RR: I am shocked that there’s a syariah law for rich and powerful Muslims and another for the poor and helpless.

Students still banned from politics, ministry wants news hushed

Not Confused: For once, and this is rare, I wholeheartedly agree with Khairy Jamaluddin. This decision just underlines how out of touch the government is.

In Europe, students participate in very lively debates and discussions on all subjects, including politics. Most of Europe's top leaders cut their teeth in debating skills during their university education of which debating societies are an integral part.

The BN government is scared of the younger generation discussing and arguing about political issues of the day. In most developed countries, such skills are part and parcel of a person's education.

Here in Malaysia, graduates are unthinking robots with no opinions about anything and unable (and worse, unwilling) to debate anything. To regard participation in politics as detracting from their education is to totally miss the point!

It’s so sad - our future generation is being consigned to live in an Asian backwater with this kind of antedeluvian thinking.
