The trial against former Port Klang Authority general manager OC Phang has been postponed until the case involving former transport minister Dr Ling Liong Sik is concluded.

Both the prosecution and defence argued that the criminal breach of trust (CBT) trial against Phang would prejudice Ling's case if it goes ahead now.

DPP Dzulkifli Ahmad and defence lawyer Francis Ng also agreed that it would be appropriate to postpone Phang's case as the offence she is charged with had occurred before Ling's alleged wrongdoing.

As such, judge Asmadi Hussain decided to adjourn the trial until the conclusion of Ling's case, but not including the appeal process.

NONE Phang, whose real name is Phang Oi Choo @ Phang Ai Tu, was charged with three counts of committing CBT between Oct 1, 2004 and May 9, 2006, in her capacity as PKA general manager, having been entrusted with funds in the disbursement accounts in RHB Bank Bhd.

She was charged on Dec 10 last year.

Ling, who is former MCA chief, was charged in July with misleading the cabinet in the purchase of land for the Port Klang Free Zone.
