your say 'Should Obama use Michelle to solve the Middle East crisis? What about asking Ho Ching to solve Singapore's quarrels with its difficult neighbour?'

Najib-Rosmah's ties with Saudi king help evacuations

Habib Rak: This is going way below normal decency to claim credit for what is his responsibility as a prime minister of the country. The fact that many other countries had already had their planes to pick their citizens well before Malaysia could means they have better and more personal relationship, is it?

Furthermore, Egypt and Saudi Arabia is six and five hours behind us, respectively. Thus, when Najib got a call at 2.30am, its only 8.30pm in Egypt and 9.30pm in Saudi Arabia. Najib and Rosmah are pathetic and desperate to lay claim for credit of this nature.

Fairnessforall : Rosmah Mansor said, "Some of the Malaysian officials, aware of my Saudi connections, also asked me to assist. My husband was busy so that was why I helped."

She is trying to act as if she has a very special and close relationship to the Saudi King. We know better, she is just trying to get cheap publicity. She wants to be a Hillary Clinton but she can't even be the dust Hillary walks on.

One Malaysian: Oh my God, this is the height of imagination and a bunch of lies. Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have had a very good relationship and we Malaysians are thankful to the Saudi government for being so generous with our students. But isn't that expected from a country which is the guardian of Mecca and Madinah?

PM Najib, who are you trying to fool? 2.30am in Malaysia is 9.30pm in Saudi Arabia, and that is not considered late there. What special relationship are you trying to imply here?

Please, Rosmah Mansor, you should have thanked God first and then all our officials in Egypt and Saudi Arabia who are spending sleepless nights trying to attend to our students.

BN_NoBrain: Malaysia ‘Boleh' should now teach US President Barack Obama to use Michelle Obama to solve the Middle East crisis. And what about asking Lee Hsien Loong to use Ho Ching to solve Singapore's quarrels with its difficult neighbour?

Playfair: What excellent entertainment for a Sunday morning. I can't wait to see it on RTM and TV3 "news bulletins".

AlexToo: Shouldn't this be the job of Foreign Minister Anifah Aman? Where is he? I have not heard of him since the start of the Tunisia and Egypt crises. Only his deputy, A Kohilan, has been busy. Anifah, where are you? Masih cuti, ka?

Michael Angelo: Why not appoint Rosmah Mansor as the foreign minister?

AkuMelayu: That's the advantage when we have heads of government who are friendly with their counterparts from a foreign country. In time like this, we can rely for help and support from them.

The government has done an excellent job in rescuing our students from Egypt in an orderly manner and in a short period of time. Kudos to PM Najib, the government, MAS and AirAsia.

KSN: Thanks to the Saudi government. But the reason for the assistance is a huge load of rubbish, right? This sort of cooperation is normal between governments in emergencies and is expected. It has nothing to do with relationships.

Sarawakian_3ff9: Very funny! Might as well claim that if it were not for Rosmah, all our students in Egypt would be dead by now.

Samuel Ng: This sounds impressive to simpletons, but aren't the personal relationships superceding national relations? Is the report suggesting that Malaysia has no value to Saudi Arabia had it not been for the personal relationship of the First Lady of Malaysia (FLOM)?

Lonestar: To our FLOM, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, felicitations and heart-felt thanks for your tremendous, above-self and super-altruistic efforts put in, right into the wee hours in helping to bring back those poor, starving and dishevelled students of ours.

They have been sprung literally from the jaws of Egyptian hell hole. Once again, muchas gracias, FLOM.

Rayfire: Wow, I am impressed. So now FLOM means Foreign Liaison Officer of Malaysia as well. Sorry Anifah, it looks like you are going to go out of work soon! Can anyone confirm which Saudi royal family member Rosmah contacted? I'm proud to have such a powerful FLOM.

Traj: Really, this is so shameful. Obviously the Saudi king has no respect for the Malaysian government or its ministers that we need our brave and gallant First Lady to use her "special relationship" with the king to get these concessions. Anifah must be sleeping on the job.

Najib must think we are all stupid to believe this hogwash. Obviously another stunt to paint our FLOM in good light.

Armour Man: The 11,000 students are being treated like heroes at KLIA - flights courtesy of MAS, received by Najib and a host of officials, feted at Dewan Bunga Raya and escorted by military personals. If Najib were to call for election any time soon, BN will get 11,000 multiply by families of votes.

Putera Malaysia: Hey Malaysians, got any problems you can't handle? Report to FLOM, who will solve them, as even ministers can't resolve them.
