Swipenter: All the state muftis are beholden to Umno and are subservient to the dictates of Umno due to the Umno's patronage and largesse. They won't be there if not for Umno.

If there is any action taken, we will only see selective prosecution of those involved in gutter/smut politics, corruption, abuse of power, etc. This is what you have when religion is made to be under the control of politics and politicians.

Religion is supposed to be above politics but we see how politicians make use of religion to further their political power and self interests. Is there any state mufti who is above politics or at the very least apolitical?

Ayoyo: Come on, muftis. Where are you, especially the outspoken ‘sahibus samahah' mufti of Perak? What happen to all of you? Why the silence?

All of you are really a let-down for the Muslims in this country. Allah will surely ask each of you, why you are keeping your mouth shut when the ummah is being humiliated with sex and pornography?

Let's all unite and show this corrupt government that we will no longer tolerate their muck and unholy behaviour. All good religious leaders should also come out and express their indignation on behalf of their frock.

L Joy: It is a shame that muftis, whose job it is to keep sanctity of Islam, keep silent when government leaders are playing the pivotal role in all these fitnah accusations against their political opponents.

Inter-faith council wants action against 'Datuk T'

Abil: Malaysians as one should appreciate the call by the interfaith organisation of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism in calling to desist from such lowly moral act by people in power and titled datuks, as you are an example for younger generation to follow. It is easy to teach bad morals to the young but difficult to teach good moral values.

Non-political organisations at last speak up for the sake of the future of the country and acted in tandem with their aim of promoting harmony and social value. Syabas! All Malaysians from all walk of life must stand up to condemn those evil personalities.

Soapbox_40a0: The mere dragging of the feet and such by the BN leaders on the issue begs the question: Are they party to this whole fiasco? The longer they take to charge the ‘Datuk T' trio, the more the suspicion that Putrajaya has a hand in this whole episode.

Anonymous_408d: Don't expect to hear anything from the muftis. Do you think they are there for the truth? They like to scream and shout and get all hysterical when they think they have a platform to "defend" Islam, just so they can get some publicity.

But when something like this absolutely filthy move to further defame Anwar Ibrahim happens, they suddenly lost their voice. So what exactly is it that they stand for? What is their role in society? What is their responsibility to the Muslim population?

The only one who has the guts to condemn the filthy strategy and to ask the people to protest the gutter politics is former mufti of Perlis, Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin. And, yes, this time Asri has done the right thing although in the past he let the Indian community down with his uncalled for and ugly remarks against Hindraf.

Let's hope that he has learnt something from that extremely bad judgement on his part and will set things right.

Loyal Malaysian: It is good that Mohd Asri and now the inter-faith council has come out strongly to condemn the gutter sex politics employed by the Umnoputras to try to kill off Anwar politically.

They represent the voices of the religious and morally upright rakyat of our country. We must not allow the Umnoputras to destroy the moral fabric of our nation.

Darth Vader: Firstly, there was never any of the video broadcast to the public. So what are they complaining about? Secondly, if the video is found to be authentic, what are they going to say? Syabas? Well done?

Blackknight: Syabas, MCCBCHST (Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism), for speaking up for us, the voiceless. The mainstream media (especially the Star , New Straits Times and Utusan Malaysia ) have really caused much agony to parents and the young minds by being in cohorts with lewd politics.

Imagine enduring full pages dedicated to the shenanigans of these morally depraved.

Ghkok: Besides the trio, the other culprits are the media, including the Internet media which gave so much publicity to this despicable episode, practically giving several days of prominent coverage to a questionable and disgusting trio with a despicable agenda. The media (especially the Internet) ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Their job ought to be to balance the biased coverage of the national media by being sceptical and calmly asking the tough questions about this video. Instead they were competing with the national media for attention and sensationalising this saga.

I include Malaysiakini in the blame.
