The fact that Impact Creations has kept a stony silence suggests that there is something shady going on with Tourism Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen and her crony company. Maybe the RM1.8 million price tag is indefensible. Their silence means that a negative inference can be drawn.

If anyone in the cabinet were to question and reprimand Ng Yen Yen, she would turn around and say, "You all can make billions from the submarine and other purchases, the hospital contracts, the Port Klang Free Zone, the shady IPPs and tolled road deals, etc, so what is wrong if I just make a little bit of money from the Tourism Ministry?"

On hearing that, everyone at the cabinet meeting is likely to sheepishly look at one another and PM Najib Najib would be forced to say, "This is a small matter. I don't think Ng Yen Yen has done anything wrong. Now let us go to the next item on the agenda."

SickNegara: Cabinet acceptance of Ng's explanation is akin to a group of senior robbers passing judgement on a junior member for stealing.

I guess what transpired in the meeting could be like this, "Ng, for such a chicken feed amount you couldn't even cover up well? You have put BN in a bad light. Imagine if you handle the submarine deal, apa akan jadi ?"

Onyourtoes: Anwar Ibrahim, supplementary budget is routine and asking for an additional 10 percent of the ordinary budget is normal, even during your time as the finance minister. When did we ever come up with accurate number when the annual budget was tabled?

It is a strategy to present nice numbers during the budget presentation to give an impression that the fiscal deficit is sustainable and expenditure growth is in line with revenue growth. Once the budget is presented and the attention faded, it is normal for the government to resort to supplementary budget.

With the latest supplementary budget, does anyone know the latest deficit as the percentage of GDP? Who say we are reducing our budget deficit?

Ong Guan Sin: What we see is the making of a record: record number of requests for additional funds from the very capable finance minister Najib. He is the worst finance minister Malaysia ever has.

Onyourtoes, I suspect you don't even bother to read the details of Anwar's criticism and yet criticise Anwar blindly. The shortfall is to cover emoluments of health and education ministries. It's operating budget oversight. Go pick up a little bit of financial planning education.

Ericlcc: If the Treasury can leave out such a huge chunk of the operating budget of the health and education ministries, it sure speaks volumes of the calibre of today's senior PTDs in the civil service.

Anonymous_417c: In light of the gravity of the implications arising from this case, it is now imperative that the prime minister sack this most foul attorney-general and take punitive action on a most dishonourable ex-IGP.
