Despite a denial by the Armed Forces chief that his men were ever involved in electoral fraud, PAS Youth has announced that more former military personnel will come forward to expose more such dubious practices after Hari Raya.
Despite a denial by the Armed Forces chief that his men were ever involved in electoral fraud, PAS Youth has announced that more former military personnel will come forward to expose more such dubious practices after Hari Raya.
According to Johor PAS youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat (

), after several retired army men had spoken up on postal vote manipulation recently, many ex-soldiers had contacted him as they wanted to make similar public confessions and complaints.
"There are two groups. One claims they had marked postal votes for their colleagues. The other says they were not allowed to vote during service although their names were in the electoral roll," he told the media during a press conference at PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said the youth movement will arrange a press conference for them after Hari Raya where more evidence will be furnished.
"As long as there is no electoral reform, PAS Youth will continue to push for it. After Hari Raya, we will collect more such cases together with evidence found by us during the by-elections of Bagan Pinang and Sibu," declared a firm Suhaizan.
Earlier this month, an ex-army man claimed that together with his colleague, he was ordered to mark some 900 postal votes for other personnel and their spouses during the general election of 1986 when he was a clerk at an army camp in Sandakan, Sabah.
Two weeks later, four ex-military personnel came forward, confessing that they also marked thousands of postal votes in three separate general elections between 1978 and 1999.
However, these allegations were denied by Armed Forces chief General Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, who furiously slammed those making the allegations , saying they had committed treachery against the Armed Forces of Malaysia.
"How can we be loyal to you if you are disloyal to us?" he had said in an emotional statement.
