Perkasa plans to cross swords with Pakatan 901

NMNT: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali reminds me of a famous Australian politician in the late 1990s and early 2000s - Pauline Hanson and her racist policies. What has happened since? She became irrelevant and Ibrahim will soon join her.

I have never supported Anwar - either before or now. Who becomes the PM doesn't really bother me. How the country is governed does. We support a cause, not the political ambition of an individual.

Beneath the colour of the skin, our blood is still red. Playing the racist card will not get you anywhere in long term.

Kee Thuan Chye: What business does Perkasa have to stage a counter-rally? It's obvious they are just out to cause trouble.

The police should take note of this and round them up if they take to the streets on Jan 9. They have no cause at all, except to provoke. That's Ibrahim Ali's own word. It's also more than obvious now that Perkasa is pro-BN.

Yet the police don't know how to distinguish it from the face of peace and love. What does that make the police?

Oh, also please don't call up the thousands of ‘silat masters' who were also going to show up for the Bersih 2.0 rally. And before you even come out of your house, make sure you ask your ‘home minister' for permission.

Onyourtoes: Please have some dignity and standard; if you want to indulge in politics, please don't invoke prayer and place of worship. It lowers your dignity (i.e, if you have anything left) and also tarnishes the religion that you proclaim to believe in.

In any case, if you insist on a  counter demonstration, I don't think we can stop you but most probably, you will end up with about 20 of you walking in Titiwangsa park again.

Disbeliever: There goes Perkasa - the arrogant angel (or is it devil?) of disruption. Obviously this Umno supported 'thug' is resorting to such an action to allow the police to put a stop to the 901 rally.

The irony of it all is that Perkasa has never been charged (and it never will) despite its racial and seditious statements spewed by its leaders, including the big clown, Ibrahim Ali.

Bluemountains: You can always hire some gangsters to threaten your opponents. Usually these gangsters are protected by the powers-that-be and never get into trouble with the law.

Underworld business outsourcing is the name of the game in present-day politics in this country. The oppressed party is bound to 'explode' one day and all hell will break loose when people start taking the law into their own hands.

Tan Cheng Leong: When PKR is trying to hold a peaceful rally and work with the police to ensure everything will go on fine, suddenly the ‘katak' (frog) comes out and tries to provoke the situation.

I thought three days ago this ‘katak' said street demonstration is not a culture anymore and they will not do that anymore.

Actually I wasn't thinking of joining the rally but it seems like now that things are getting hotter, I will go with my camera.

Blogsmith: Ibrahim has said it clearly. They will march and instigate provocations. This is clearly a threat of violence compared with the other camp which planned to demonstrate peacefully.

I believe there is law against those preaching violence and the police must act. Otherwise it will be yet another proof that the police are partial.

Passing Cloud: It's obvious Ibrahim Ali is out to provoke trouble by planning to hold a ‘special' prayers' at the mosque situated opposite the court at the same time.

IGP (inspector-general of police), what are you going to do to prevent a clash between Pakatan and Perkasa supporters? Aren't you going to take proactive action against Ibrahim Ali too? Reply!

Ferdtan: I cannot suppress a yawn. Can't Ibrahim Ali be more creative? He planned and said the same thing during the pre-Bersih's rally.

A slight change from the past - he invoked the name of Allah this time. The outcome of his last bravado act on July 9 Bersih rally - he spent with a few of his members walking around in Titiwangsa lake garden. Talking to the birds?

Kgen: What has Bersih 2.0 rally and Duta Court rally got to do with fighting for Malay rights? Every time Pakatan Rakyat does something, this political clown wants to counter it. He is not just a political clown but Umno's clown.

Trumpet Call: This kind of response from Ibrahim Ali is typical of the man. His primary aim is to contend against what is right and righteous just to get into the limelight.

They are empty-headed troublemakers out to get cheap publicity. They are not bothered about who gets hurt as long as their narrow minded and bigoted aims are achieved.

Magic Mountain: After this, you will say your wife won't allow you to attend the rally...
