Malay right-wing group Perkasa lodged a police report today in relation to a statement by a local tertiary student in Kuala Lumpur who has allegedly exhorted other students at his institution to

participate in an assembly by supporters of Anwar Ibrahim planned for Monday in the federal capital.      

Petaling Perkasa chairperson Zainal Abidin Ahmad made the report at the Shah Alam police headquarters calling for an investigation on the student’s statement posted on the blog.   

“The student was calling on all his friends from the same institution to gather and assemble at the Kuala Lumpur High Court as a sign of support for the free Anwar campaign, in a statement dated Jan 3 on the blog,” he said.    

“Apart from that, there were statements which appeared to criticise the police claiming that the police force has been made a tool of the Barisan Nasional (BN),” he added.
