The investigation into alleged irregularities in the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) is expected to be completed soon, said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) director of investigations, Mustafar Ali.

Mustafar, who is heading a special team investigating NFC, said statements had been taken from all those involved with regard to the allegations and the related documents gathered.

“The investigation will be completed any time soon,” he said when contacted today.

Asked whether the MACC had recorded a statement from Women, Family and Community Development Minister Sharizat Abdul Jalil, who is also the wife of NFC executive chairperson Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail, Mustafar said: “I don’t want to comment on this. All involved (in the case) will be called.”

Auditor-General Ambrin Buang recently clarifed that the Auditor-General’s Report 2010 did not use such words as “in a mess” or misappropriation in its audit report on the NFC’s National Feedlot Centre project in Gemas, Negri Sembilan.

He said the main focus of the audit was on the feedlot centre’s achievements since its establishment in 2006 and not on NFC as a company.
