Umno Wanita Chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil today took a veiled dig at an opposition figure who has dogged her over the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal for the last three months.

"Yesterday, when I went to Perak, many Wanita (Umno members) told me there is a young opposition member who has been stalking me in the last three months.

shahrizat general hospital 050212 "They said this person has aspirations to become Umno Wanita chief, so it will be appropriate we send our red and white uniform to him," she said after visiting newborn babies at Hospital Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul.

Asked if she was referring to Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah or PKR strategies director Rafizi Ramli, she replied: "It's a man."

"If he wears it (Umno wanita uniform), he would look quite cun (good looking) because he looks a little jambu (pretty boy)."

Aspiring politician

When pressed further if she was taking aim at Rafizi, she said this person was an aspiring politician who wants to contest in the next general election.

Rafizi, a soft spoken person, had for the past three months taken the lead in revealing a series of alleged misappropriations by NFC.

They include RM13.8 million used for purchasing luxury condominiums in Bangsar, RM3.4 million for plots of land in Putrajaya, RM830,000 for holiday trips and RM530,000 for a luxury car.

NFC is accused of spending part of a RM250 million government soft loan on these items rather than on the national beef valley in Gemas which it is tasked to manage.

Shahrizat, whose husband Mohamed Salleh Ismail is the company's chairperson, has faced increasing calls to step down even from within her own party over the controversy.
