The PKR claims that Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein is trying to avoid his responsibilities and free himself of any blame over the violent attacks on Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim near Sembrong last Sunday.
Pakatan secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (

not within his constituency
was a naïve excuse.
“He can argue that it is not within the police boundary or within his constituency but the real issue is how can Umno face the people when it had hired thugs to create the problems,” he said.
The home minister today denied the attacks on the PKR de facto leader’s car and his supporters at Batu 4, Jalan Mersing, happened in his constituency.
However, Hishammuddin promised that the police will probe and take action against those responsible.
Saifuddin told Malaysiakini that the home minister should ask the police to complete their investigations quickly as the case is a straight-forward one.
“There is no need for the police to ‘honeymoon’ in identifying the suspects.
"The kampung folks can identify the culprits. What is so difficult. I feel it would take a week or two to complete the investigations,” he said.
The windscreen of Anwar’s car suffered a crack after being hit by stones, and one person was injured on his forehead after being struck by a hard object during the attack.
