Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has called for witnesses to the alleged harassment of a businesswoman at Sri Petaling police station on March 24 to come forward.

“I hope more witnesses will come forward to assist the police in their investigations,” said the DAP parliamentarian.

lim hui hui police assault teresa kok 020412 01 Kok was at Bukit Aman police headquarters this morning to lodge a complaint with its disciplinary department over allegations that police personnel at Sri Petaling police station had sexually harassed Lim Hui Hui during questioning.

The MP (right in photo, next to Lim ) and several of her aides along with the victim and her lawyer Eric Tan were at Bukit Aman at 9.55am.

Speaking to the media before lodging the complaint, Kok said what had happened to Lim was “bullying”.

“By right the police should protect the people. Such incidents should not happen in police stations,” she said.

Lim lodged a police report on the incident last Thursday, saying she was handcuffed and assaulted, and that a woman police officer had molested her.

She had also claimed that female police officers at the station ordered her to urinate into a bottle for urine tests, despite her hands being handcuffed behind her.

When she complained of this, her breast was pinched and she was told to proceed anyway.

At the press conference held after the police report was lodged, Lim’s counsel, Tan, said she had provided details of the incident in a two-hour long statement to enable police to investigate and take action against those involved.

Tan said Bukit Aman Disciplinary Division officer ASP Karishna Sharma told him that Lim’s complaint would be handled by the division’s deputy chief Hashim Abdul Jalil.
