Police today recorded a statement from Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin over his claim during a ceramah that the prime minister had met with armed forces chiefs, asking them to do “something” if BN loses in the coming general election.

The Perak PAS deputy commissioner arrived at the Ipoh district police  headquarters at 10.15am, accompanied by his wife Fatimah Taat and three lawyers, before giving his statement for about an hour.

He is being investigated under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code for making a statement conducing to public mischief.

azlan When met by reporters, Mohammad Nizar said he had given all the information required by police.

Recently, several individuals and non-governmental organisations had lodged  police reports over the statement made by Mohammad Nizar, who is also Pasir Panjang assemblyperson.

In his ceramah (talk), Mohammad Nizar claimed he was informed that Najib Abdul Razak had called the armed forces chiefs for a meeting and asked them whether they could do something if BN loses in the coming elections.

The claim was, however, refuted by the Malaysian Armed Forces.

Perak police chief Mohd Shukri Dahalan said the investigation papers on the case would be sent to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.
