Isa's entry as Felda co-op member 'illegal'

However, no action can be taken because the KPF by-laws do not have any provision to cancel his membership, a three-member MCCC panel decided last week.
"Hence, Isa's membership in KPF remains intact," the panel said.
This means that Isa, a former long-serving menteri besar of Negeri Sembilan ( left ), can stay on as KPF chairperson.
The panel made its decision on May 23, following an application challenging Isa's membership in KFP filed by Abdul Talib Ali and 15 other KPF members.
The panel was chaired by Kamarulzaman Mohamad Buhari, with Muriddan Elias and Zainab Othman as members.
The lawyer representing the applicants, Ahmad Nizam Ramli, yesterday received the letter from MCCC stating its decision on the application filed by Talib and the others.
Nonsensical d ecision
"This decision on Isa Samad is strange and nonsensical," said Ahmad Nizam, perturbed by the decision.
This, said Ahmad Nizam, was because despite the illegality of Isa's membership, he is still accepted as a member of KPF.

that the board of directors had acknowledged Isa's inclusion in the board without taking into account the rules and regulations governing cooperatives
The dissatisfaction over the status of Isa's KPF membership was once part of the tussle over the listing of Felda subsidiary Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGV).
KPF members have been attempting to derail the listing, which they claim will result in cooperative being sidelined. They have also filed a court injunction.
However, the government have worked past the injunction and has gone on with the listing without KPF involvement.
