YOURSAY 'When these secrets of a strategic nature are exposed, it is the poor men in the Navy who have to pay with their lives.'
French 'bought' top secret document from M'sian Navy
Satu Malaysian: If you think that our esteemed police and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) are about to leap into action to save our nation from the traitors and charge them with treason, forget it as nothing of that sort is going to happen.
They will only do that if it concerns Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and others in the opposition. By now, all would have been rounded up and sent to the gallows.
On the other hand, national security vis a vis the Scorpene submarines scandal, the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder, corruption, NFC (National Feedlot Corporation), Lynas and Bersih's struggles are all way down in the list of priorities for the BN.
Its main focus are Jais/Mais raids, khalwat, proselytisation, Sodomy 1, 2, 3, Anwar/Azmin bashing, Dato T trio's ‘sexploits', harassing Guan Eng and family, getting political frogs to badmouth the opposition - all loudly highlighted in the MSM (mainstream media).
But not a squeak about the abuses and/or crimes of those in power.
Truly Patriotic: Now that there is an allegation that a top secret military document of the nation's has been sold, I can't wait to see how speedy those relevant authorities - Mindef (Defence Ministry), the police and MACC jump into action.
We can't afford to let this extremely serious allegation to be politicised by political parties, NGOs, etc, A nation's honour is at stake. If this is indeed true, heads must roll.
James Dean: It looks like our intelligence organisation has fallen flat on their face with this expose. The question in everybody's mind is, did the military intelligence know about this?
If yes, then why was no action taken? If no, then they must all have been sleeping.
Louis: PM Najib Razak, if you love this country as you always claim, kindly go after the traitor and jail him.
In times of war, selling defence secrets means death. It is a very serious offence. The choice is yours - your good friends or our beloved Malaysia.
Moontime: Here's what I think the PM will do: In public, he will brush off the allegations; claiming all of it as hearsay and slander.
In private, he will manoeuver and deploy several top-notch lawyers and influential people to "discuss" with the French authorities and attempt to mitigate the effects of this scandal.
I strongly believe that no subpoena will be issued as he knows like all of us do, that if this scandal is not handled correctly, the consequences will be fatal for Umno-BN.
He might also attempt to use the foreign bogeyman ruse to drum up support similar to what his predecessor did in the late 1990s.
If this is a chess game, it is a 'check' in favour of Suaram and the French authorities.
However, we must never underestimate the PM advisors, chiefly Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the wily old politician may have some tricks up his sleeve to help Najib wriggle out of this predicament.
Despite his attempts to hide the truth, we all know the law of the universe cannot be ignored - the truth shall prevail.
SIC It: The ones appointed to defend our country's security were actually selling Malaysia's national interest for money. It's terrible and horrible crime. It's betrayal of the highest degree.
Anonymous_3f4a: How did a Hong Kong-based company obtain such highly-classified documents of the Malaysian Navy without any insider's help?
No wonder, even jet engines can be illegally removed from the Sungai Besi military base, escaped the detection of the Customs and Ports authorities before making its way to third countries.
What sorts of security apparatus do we have in our country? It's a frightening glimpse of the intimate workings of the high offices of the Malaysian government.
Dswami: When these secrets of a strategic nature are exposed, it is the poor men in the Navy who have to pay with their lives, whereas the greedy traitors get to enjoy life.
Anonymous_3e21: I'm pretty sure that this not an isolated case. This could have happen in many other cases as well.
It looks like some people will sell anything to make money. But selling defence secrets is beyond redemption.
What hope have we got when the very people we entrust to guard our country seems to be more interested in enriching themselves. Thanks a million, Suaram, for looking after our interests.
Bob Teoh: For a prime minister who is so deeply implicated in a scandal that is likely to surface in France soon, it is simply mind-boggling that Najib is still talking about leading the ruling coalition to the general election.
Perhaps that is why Mahathir wants the 13th general election delayed to get Najib out of the way, so he can lead the charge into the polls through his proxies in Umno.
Whatever happens, Najib is a wanted man. BN is not ready for the polls, that is why they need to cheat.
The first thing they need to do is get rid of Ambiga. That's why they have sent in their goons to ‘butt out' Ambiga. This will be Umno's last elections. They will either sit on the opposition bench or be behind bars.
The consolation for Najib is that he gets to eat croissants in Paris soon. Bon voyage.
Jaded: And what does our brilliant, super efficient and effective MACC do? They pursue cases against whistleblowers and opposition politicians.
What's the penalty for treason? Isn't it hanging?
