MCA on Talam: Big pot calling small kettle black

YOURSAY 'Why was Talam given the job by the previous government and why it is allowed to accumulate huge debts to state GLCs?'

MCA: Selangor overpaid Talam by RM42mil

Anonymous #47094963 : Malaysians have a more pressing problem at hand - the RM4 billion, possibly more if you include the maintenance contracts, that the BN regime overpaid in what overseas media is calling the Scorpene submarines corruption scandal.

It also involves the murder of someone's daughter, mother, and sister. If you are about to start fighting corruption, you should really start with that. There is a string of other cases that involve much more graft than the Talam Corp case.

Wira: The report in Malaysiakini said, "Asked to back his allegation that the state had paid RM118 million for the land, Chua (Tee Yong) said it is up to Selangor to confirm."

Obviously, Chua is not even sure of his allegation. He needs confirmation from the very person he alleges against.

Chua ought to be asking why was Talam given the job by the previous government and why it was allowed to accumulate debts to state GLCs amounting to such humongous amounts.

Damn, those were all Umno cronies the MB and his staff were dealing with, and the present Selangor government was actually trying to save bona fide property buyers from a default by the developer.

Ghkok: Yesterday MCA central committee member Chua Tee Yong said he needed more time to get "more information".

So we gave him more time. We were shivering with anticipation. The suspense was killing us. Our hands were sweating. We were pacing up and down. The whole state of Selangor stopped breathing.

And today, sigh, he said there is an "astounding" difference of RM42 million in the deal. Wow. But Chua "doesn't know if the difference is paid in cash or offset".

Well, maybe he needs a bit more time to get more information, like maybe another 10 years should be just about right.

Mahindar Singh: Chua Junior, I hope you know what you are doing. This may backfire as you probably do not have the complete picture of the deal.

You really need to get into the fine details and understanding the circumstances surrounding the case.

Reducing your scandal quantum from RM1 billion to RM42 million does not speak very well of your intelligence.

Sarajun Hoda: This is a case of the big pot calling a small kettle black. Answer to the scandals of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), private jetties and the failed LPK (Port Klang Authority) housing first, MCA.

Hello: Mr ‘I don't know', so what do you know? You go off half-cocked and come up with wild claims and now you say you don't know?

Get all your facts right, then only make the accusations. Indeed, you deserve to be sued.

YF: Chua, why were you silent when former Selangor MB Mohamad Khir Toyo and his gang bought land on discount for their own personal use? You're a hypocrite, along with The Star newspaper.

I can't imagine that The Star could stoop so low with their headlines. No wonder I keep seeing stacks of the paper in the news stand these days. People are rejecting it as a credible paper.

Dr Chin Tu Lan: Chua , show us the valuation report that the land is worth RM131 million. Don't just talk, show proof, not pictures. And by the way, how much is the property worth right now?

CiViC: His allegations, figures and information change every day. I bet he himself feels like a fool now.

Tee Yong to answer Talam after getting 'further info'

Telestai: Chua Tee Yong, when you start to criticise, you must be prepared for rebuttals. Should you not have waited until you got the full facts before you went running around like a bull in a China shop?

Without answers to the rebuttals, you look woefully out of depth. Someone I know used to describe you as one who knows only enough to be dangerous.

Anonymous #19098644: You don't have all the facts, you don't know your credits from your debits, and your numbers don't add up. Your conclusions are illogical. You make false and slanderous accusations.

Now you are backpedalling and saying that you are just asking questions, when you were making false allegations earlier on.

Where did you get your degree from? We must all make sure we don't send our children to that institution because it produces incompetent and unethical politicians like you.

Lynn: What a joke this guy is - he has no information and is now scrambling to make sure he doesn't come out looking like a complete idiot.

NoArm : His bluff is now called; Chua is looking for an honourable exit. I am afraid however that honourable exits are only for honourable men.
