The chairperson of NGO Warga Aman A Raja Retinam today gave his statement at the Dang Wangi police station, in relation to the Aug 30 gathering near Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

NONE According to Raja Ratnam, ( right) he was called as Warga Aman is part of the Gabungan Janji coalition, the organiser of the National Day eve Janji Demokrasi rally.

However, the NGO leader, who was accompanied by lawyer Afiq M Noor, said that he had chosen not to answer most of the questions during the 30-minute session.

"I found the questions irrelevant and not very clear, so I opted to answer in court," he said when contacted.

He said, among others, he was asked if he part of the organising team, his whereabouts on the eve of National Day and whether he was part of two press conferences on the rally.

"They also asked if I was aware that (the National Day eve rally) was an illegal gathering," said the leader of the NGO, which rose to prominence over its later aborted plan to open thosai stalls in front of Selangor deputy police chief Khalid Abu Bakar's house.

Police are investigating the gathering under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

Police have concluded separate probes into several incidents which took place during the gathering, including the stepping of pictures of the prime minister and his wife.
