Alleged audio on 'arrogant' Guan Eng exposed

your say Telestai!: I don't understand what the hoo-hah is all about. It is a good thing for the coalition partners to spar with each other every now and then. When unhappiness is communicated, the parties will better understand each other.

I see it as a healthy development as long as the parties, DAP, PKR and PAS, reconcile and close ranks. Anything less will be superficial.

Solaris: Whatever BN's motive may be, this is more than just a case of badmouthing the boss. It's the tip of the iceberg of rising discontent and dissent among the parties in this marriage of convenience in the Penang Pakatan Rakyat government.

All is not well internally, yet they dream of ‘Putridjaya.'

Thana55: Running a government requires stern stewardship and in this Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has excelled.

His approach probably needs to be tweaked by this feedback. This is part of the continuous improvement process. This is a non-issue when compared with all the misdeeds of Umno-BN.

Darth Vader: Please use your sense and logic to look objectively at the issue - is the public image that Lim is trying to portray in line with what he really is?

Can he be trusted? Those are important questions as you need to come to a logical conclusion before you can make up your mind of whether you can trust your next five years to his camp.

Ferdtan: Who do you want? Former premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, a docile and a nice man, who lost controlled over his subordinates; or Lim, a so-called arrogant man, holding the fort well for the Pakatan coalition? The choice is easy. Lim wins hands down.

Rick Teo: If you are good at your job, then you can afford the luxury of being cocky and arrogant. Since Lim is successful in doing his job, what's wrong in being cocky? He still has my vote for doing a fine job in Penang.

Don't Play-Play: The issue here is not just about Lim being arrogant but more on the discontentment among the parties in the "marriage of convenience" in the Penang Pakatan government. This is a major score by the opposition in Penang.

Ravicmd: With this infighting between DAP and PKR and now a crisis over hudud with PAS, I am afraid even if Pakatan takes over, there might be bigger disputes among them if they do not sort it out now.

DAP might just pull out and make Penang another Singapore - just a thought. But history may repeat itself.

Still, so what if DCM Mansor Othman really said it? It's just a figure of speech and furthermore it is his opinion. Whatever it is, they can still sit at the same table for the benefit of rakyat.

If the Chinese think Lim is ‘tokong' (deity), it is just saying the Chinese support for DAP is unshakable and is like a religion to them now, especially when they think MCA and Gerakan are hopeless. The irony is that racism still prevails.

Spinnot: This expose does not make the BN less corrupt, arrogant, abusive and wasteful. It shows none of the Pakatan partners are dominant unlike BN where only Umno talks and makes all decisions.

Sinner: A person who is incorruptible and sticks to the rule of accountability is always "cocky, arrogant and behaves like a deity".

I know of a Chinese police ASP who was incorruptible. The officers in his station hated him and called him "Haji". They later had him transferred out.

AkuMelayuIslam: This is a small matter - in my office, the staff also say bad things about their bosses, but at the same time respect them because every human being has weaknesses.

The bottom line is that his heart and his objectives must be good. It's a matter of individual style.

If only you could hear what DPM Muhyuddin Yassin says about PM Najib Abdul Razak or what minister Nazri Abdul Aziz says about former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad...

Anonymous #43051382: So what? Eighty percent of Chinese Malaysians support DAP. BN can play the recording continuously 24/7 on all radio and TV channels, but it won't change the Chinese Malaysians support for DAP.

Boiling Mud: Instead of reporting pettiness, why don't the TV stations and other mainstream media (MSM) do some exposures on the misdeeds that are affecting the average citizens' lives?

Just look into: (1) forex fiasco (early 90s), (2) Maminco scandal, (3) Bank Bumiputra bailouts, (4) Star-LRT bailout, (5) compensation to highway companies, (6) PKFZ scandal, (7) MV Agusta and Proton losses, (8) wang ehsan, oil royalty for Terengganu, (9) bailouts of Malaysia Airline System, (10) jets and submarines contracts and purchases, (11) the white elephant Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities and the cancellation of the crooked bridge, (12) NFC Cowgate scandal, (13) the RM160 million for 300 computer labs in Sabah.... dan lain-lain ?

The MSM would do the country a very patriotic service rather than grovelling and barking at the feet of their masters. Right?

Ngecui: Lim Guan Eng's detractors see that speck of dust in his eyes but not the log in their own.

Kim Quek: Somerset Maugham, hailed as the greatest living storyteller in English language before he died, once said something to this effect:

"If four friends sitting at a table were to hear the bad things they said against each other behind their backs, there will be no friendship among them."

I do not know whether the said audio record is completely authentic, and knowing that there is nothing BN's dirty tricks department wouldn't do (however degrading) to achieve its political objective, I wouldn't be optimistic about its authenticity.

Even if it is authentic, I would be philosophical about it if it happens to me, because I know my strength and weaknesses, and I am not particularly conceited about myself.
