BN MP: Western funders aim to stymie China's rise

While debating the Budget 2013 speech today, Bung (

) said western powers seek to destabilise the government and ultimately compel Malaysia to do their bidding.
"(Currency speculator George) Soros has been identified as the person behind the fall of other governments like in Egypt and Iraq, where the people were goaded to rise up against their governments.
"The same is being done in Malaysia, which is chosen as it is strategically placed to stop China's influence in the 21st century economy. This is the strategy of the United States," he said.
Bung Mokhtar said Soros' plotting is evident through his foundation's funding of human rights NGO Suaram , which role is to "oppose the government and goad the people".
"In Syria, the US is also using military might, by legalising an invasion. We don't want this to happen to our country," he said.
Bung Mokhtar added that news portal Malaysiakini , too, should also be "hauled up" using existing laws for "publishing libel".
"We are not asking all blogs and media to support the government but they shouldn't be publishing libel everyday, as if they have nothing to do... Haul up Malaysiakini , the laws are there," he said.
'Foreign funds to sabotage FGVH'
Supporting Bung Mokhtar’s argument, Abdul Rahman Dahlan (BN-Kota Belud) said contrary to the opposition's claims, the issue of foreign intervention is not "petty".
"We know that when it comes to international politics, a big part of the agenda of large powers especially is to influence foreign powers.
"If foreign funds are used to influence the people... one day the funder will want a dividend to their investment by saying 'I helped you once, what can you do to me now?', " Abdul Rahman ( right ) said.
"We are not against everyone, but those who influence the people to portray the government as cruel, thus endangering our safety".
Abdul Rahman also claimed that foreign fund managers' speculating activities are pushing down palm oil prices, and adversely affecting Felda Global Ventures Holdings' (FGVH) performance on the Bursa Saham.
Also agreeing, Lilah Yassin (BN-Jempol) said that there is no shortage of "traitors" in Malaysia's history.
"If FGVH does well, the share prices go up, the dividends do, too, and the settlers will definitely vote for the BN.
"By using foreign powers to sabotage FGVH, the Felda settlers will not support the BN and (the traitors) will be happy. But the settlers are wise and know this," he said.
