For Umno, everyone must be paid to protest

YOURSAY 'Azalina, just because Umno-BN practises this ‘pay money to attract protesters' culture, it doesn't mean others do it too.'

Pengerang MP: Rally participants paid RM30 each

your say Bonaiho: What a silly accusation from Pengerang Mp Azalina Othman.

I went to the Pengerang rally last Sunday in a group by bus. I can assure everybody that no one was paid a single cent for participating.

Instead, a lot of people were seen donating to the local Pengerang NGO.

Gotcha: I was there at the Himpunan Hijau rally, so how come I did not get the RM30 and neither did I see anyone getting paid?

Azalina, I would really appreciate if you could make arrangements for me and my four friends from Kulai be paid.

Watcher: Azalina, you are insulting the people of Pengerang for making such a claim. The people are not so cheap like your Umno goons.

Let's see you stand in Pengerang this GE13 and I bet my last dollar you will lose your deposit. Or maybe you have already been blacklisted by your bosses because you are not a winnable candidate.

Opah: "I said that in the Dewan Rakyat and what I say inside and outside the Dewan are different," said Azalina.

Azalina has given a short and sweet description of herself and her morals. No one could have said it better.

Gerard Lourdesamy: Azalina has no guts. Repeat it outside of the Dewan if you dare. The rally was organised by NGOs and not Umno-BN because only the latter pays people RM30 to attend their gatherings.

Why be so angry and emotional if you have nothing to hide? Coming from an MP who mysteriously got elected in 2004 and 2008 unopposed, she should stick to the facts.

Does she even live in Pengerang? I suggest that Pakatan Rakyat put a strong candidate to contest against this woman come GE13 and put an end to her disgraceful behaviour.

This is a classic case of power and money transforming a person to an ugly thing.

Dood: Azalina, for your information, just because Umno-BN practises this ‘pay money to attract protesters' culture, it doesn't mean others do it too, okay?

1malaysia2perak3katak: During the Merdeka celebrations in Bukit Jalil with the PM, school kids were paid RM100 each. My friend sent his two kids with the school party and got RM200. Only just RM30 for Pengerang protesters?

Ferdtan: As a lawyer, Azalina Othman should have known what she said based on what she heard from another person, especially without any proof, is hearsay. For the court to accept such accusations, she would have to produce the witness.

Azalina is just shooting wildly in order to deflect and distract. We just have to compare that with the many exposures and accusations the Pakatan leaders have made against the government and its agencies, such as the Election Commission.

They always come out with well-documented evidence and irrefutable proof. That is what makes the difference between the present government and the oppositions leaders.

Kolopilah: Azalina, you left huge gaping holes in the Sports Ministry and the Majlis Sukan Negara Malaysia (MSN). You left them in dire straits, strung high and dry, with no money.

The high performance centre in the United Kingdom and many others was how you fleeced the government, even former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi threw you out from the cabinet.

You made use of the ministry and sport council officers for your own political agenda to the point that they couldn't perform/deliver.

You don't have any credibility left. But lately you have resurfaced, talking and barking about the Pengerang issue simply because of vested interests.

Fair&Just : By taking a bird's eye view, sitting back and observing some of these obnoxious people in play, it is so pathetic to have them running the government - shouting, pointing fingers, accusing, shamelessly ranting, the holier-than-thou attitude while they stand accused of being the real offenders.

It is like the Malay proverb - throwing the stone and hiding the hands. Shameful.

Jk7462000: The more I see and read about how these BN MPs and Aduns go about their daily ‘work', the more I'm convinced that they are beyond redemption and they should just be unceremoniously thrown out.

Anonymous #55961902: Who cares whether those people are local or from other states. This is a matter involving the country. Why can't Malaysians from other states lend support to fellow Malaysians in Johor?

Armageddon: If money was really indeed paid to draw the protestors, then they must have picked up the habit from Umno.
