The Kota Bharu High Court has subpoenaed Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to testify in PAS vice-president Husam Musa's lawsuit against blogger Papagomo.

NONE According to a Harakahdaily report yesterday, Zahid ( left ) is to appear in court on January 6.

"The Kota Bharu High Court has approved my application to subpoena Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"This is because Zahid is familiar with Papagomo, as the former had allowed the blogger to board the Scorpene submarine earlier," Husam told the PAS organ.

According to the daily, he filed the RM10 million suit against the Umno-linked blogger for allegedly posting an article on December 6 linking the PAS leader to a Chinese woman in a posting titled ‘Exclusive photos of prospective Kelantan MB holding hands with a China doll'.

In his application, Husam explained that the photograph was taken during a Kelantan official visit to China, and depicted the delegation leaving a building accompanied by their translator, a Chinese lady.

The lawsuit was filed by Husam's lawyer Hisham Fauzi recently, demanding the compensation along with a written apology, and exemplary, aggravated and punitive damages.

According to Harakahdaily , the plaintiff had earlier sent a notice to the blogger demanding an apology and compensation, but the latter had ignored it.

Last month, the courts also began hearing another defamation suit by Husam against another pro-Umno blogger, Kickdefella for RM5 million.
