Partners in crime in citizenship-for-votes

YOURSAY 'The betrayal is of such an unimaginable magnitude that those who have known for years and have evidence of such a dastardly act are equally guilty.'

Refugee details fast track path to citizenship

your say Borg Kinaulu: I have been waiting to see if the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Immigrants in Sabah will hear from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Many of those who have worked or lived in Sabah would have heard many amazing stories similar to the above and some even more outrageous ones, not from third-hand sources, but from the blue-IC-holding foreigners themselves.

For example, a particularly enterprising individual told me how he had obtained his free blue IC, sold it, and got another one. And guess what? Apparently it can still be done even today.

Don't get me wrong. I don't have any problem against these newcomers. Ask any towkays and contractors in Sabah and they will tell you that these immigrants are some of the best and hardworking workers in the state.

No doubt, they have contributed significantly to Sabah's economy over the past decades. They are not the problem.

The problem is with the politicians which exploited these poor people by abusing the system in the bid to keep themselves in power so that they can continue rob from Sabahans and Malaysians.

Those who are responsible must be brought to book and let history correctly reflect the crooks that they are.

Just Me: The other components parties in BN must be just playing dumb. This clearly shows that the ‘Big M' plan is for Umno to have it all.

I suggest MCA, Gerakan and the other BN components parties to think about it carefully. If they continue like this, will they have any seats to contest in the future?

Multi Racial: This act of treason is well cover in Internet but strangely none of our main print media see it fit to report on it.

These people, who include shareholders, the management, editors and journalists, are equally guilty for the cover-up. They are hiding this piece of news from Malaysians. What a shame.

Starr: It only goes to show that the legalisation process is initiated by the federal government, not the individuals.

No doubt, there existed such a scheme of 'citizenship-for-vote' in 1990s in Sabah and is possibly being replicated now in Selangor. The Election Commission (EC) is the chief engineer for such a scheme.

Ourvotesdecide!: In Sarawak, Stephen Kalong Ningkan was removed from office as a democratically elected chief minister through a declaration of emergency after he successfully challenged his dismissal by the federal government in court.

In Sabah, the federal government cheated the democratically-elected Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) through the issuance of ICs (identity cards) to illegal immigrants and then registering them as voters.

These same tactics will be repeated elsewhere in Malaysia.

'NRD's G17 processed over 100k blue ICs for foreigners'

Anonymous_40c3: These guys who did the bidding of others were the fall guys. Their actions and the people whom they work for have committed treason of the highest order and they have betrayed their country.

I cannot think of a greater crime. The betrayal is of such an unimaginable magnitude that those who have known for years and have evidence of such a dastardly act are equally guilty.

Starr: I'd like to challenge the opposition parties to hold a public rally in Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu to protest against the abuse of power by the National Registration Department (NRD), the EC and the ruling party for issuing MyKads to illegal immigrants, demanding that the culprits be charged, the fraudulent MyKads be revoked and their names be removed from the electoral roll.

The state government's failure to act should also challenge the opposition parties to take legal action against the federal government for breach of the Malaysia Agreement in ensuring security and borders protection as well as sovereignty of the Sabah state.

This is by far the greatest crime committed against the state and its people. The RCI (royal commission of inquiry) have the constitutional duty to get to the bottom of the issue without fear and favour.

Can the former and present home ministers deny this clandestine operation executed by the NRD?

Ferdtan: With the damaging exposes from the RCI, it is a bitter stalemate for Dr Mahathir Mahathir. PM Najib Razak wins this round.

For the next few months before the 13th GE, Mahathir will be licking his wounds. Najib gets to choose his winnable election candidates from his camp without the expected opposition from his party's rival, DPM Muhyiddin Yassin.

However, don't count on the great Mahathir to sit tight, he will lose no time to get his knife sharpened. He will then turn to Muhyiddin's camp to get his pound of flesh.

Let us wait for the deputy PM to make his move to help Mahathir. Then you know for sure that the show has begun.

Tunku brought independence, Dr M brought illegals

Dr Mahathir, you're no Tunku
