Perhaps CSL should send OTK to fight LKS
YOURSAY 'This will kill two birds with one stone, no need for Chua Soi Lek to threaten resigning like a small kid over Ong Tee Keat's candidacy.'
Anonymous_4031: MCA president Chua Soi Lek, it is rumoured that you would resign from your post if Ong Tee Keat is picked as a candidate for Pandan.
Yes, show your strong character, and the Chinese will respect you more. Time is running out, your options are limited and the window of opportunity is fast closing.
I remember vividly the day you gave up the health ministerial post when you admitted that you were the man in the sex video; and I wrote to the Star: "Whoever has not sinned, let him cast the first stone."
I stand by my statement even now. Show to the Chinese community that MCA is relevant and its leader is brave enough to tell off the Umno leader that "enough is enough".
"Mere brave speech without action is just letting off hot steam." (Mahatma Gandhi)
Quigonbond: That may be good news for Malaysians, after all. We would rather have someone combative, arrogant, but still trying to do the right thing, or at least a semblance thereof (recall the Port Klang Free Zone scandal), instead of someone morally tainted, and with questionable political machinations, constantly spewing lies, half-truths and inconsistencies.
Anyway, it shows how low Umno is treating MCA when its president has to throw tantrum to change Umno's mind about who's to contest in the coming elections.
MockingYou: CSL (Chua Soi Lek), might as well as tender that resignation letter now. I've heard rumours that Najib will field OTK (Ong Tee Keat) as a BN candidate as his track record and "credibility" is better than yours.
LittleGiant: CSL should have the guts to stand against LKS (Lim Kit Siang) and prove how much support and respect the MCA has in the Chinese community.
If Chua loses, he should have the decency to wind up his political career and disappear from public life.
OMG!!: CSL should send OTK to take on LKS. This will kill two birds with one stone, no need to threaten resigning like a small kid over OTK's candidacy, which put the Chinese community whom he claims to represent to great shame.
Haveagreatday: CSL, if the communication is between you and the PM only, are you implying it is the PM who has leaked what transpired in your discussions with him about Tee Keat's candidature at Pandan?
If you are brave enough to throw the stone, be man enough to own up to the act.
MiVote: We can assess that CSL is subject to what Umno wants. He cannot even spell out their own list of candidates, he has to threaten that if OTK is fielded he would resign, but still lack courage to confirm his decision.
How can MCA still claim to be a viable party, especially on the claim of Chinese representation in government?
Onyourtoes: Okay CSL, you can keep your privacy, we are not going to challenge you on that. But we still have right to ask you this: What is your stand if OTK is selected as a candidate?
What likely actions would you take if OTK is fielded as candidate in the coming GE? As the president of MCA, you need to answer us, regardless of your conversation with PM.
By the way, we elect MPs to focus on decent policies and good governance. We don't elect MPs to raise money for another Chinese school. That is a ‘beggar' policy.
If the Chinese schools need funding, get it from the Ministry of Education or your Malays first DPM. Why, you have problem doing that?
Cks: It's not difficult to guess that Pasir Gudang MCA division chief Tan Cher Puk has been sidelined by CSL in the coming GE; it has been recently reported CSL did not pick him to defend his Johor Jaya state seat.
As such, there is nothing noble about his call. As for CSL, let's see if he has the guts to contest in Gelang Patah. He has certainly waited too patiently for a chance to get back to the cabinet. Would he risk it?
Heavywater: So Chua, the ball is in your court. Do you dare or just talk? OTK will be given a seat by Najib.
It looks like you have three choices - 1. Resign, 2. Take on LKS, 3. Do nothing.
Which one would you choose? You talk big now, but eventually you must act. Otherwise, what effect Chua has as president of MCA? It will be seen as just another puppet of Umno.
Changeagent: Great suggestion by Tan Cher Puk. Let the 'touch and go' MP battle it out with the 'touch and go' husband in the Johor seat of Gelang Patah.
