Kamilia, Umno Wanita is no place for you

YOURSAY ‘Poetic justice, isn't it. Umno is pulling out all stops to destroy DAP, but it is self-destructing from within.’

Umno Wanita deputy chief peeved at being sidelined

your say Dark Knight: Umno Wanita deputy chief Kamilia Ibrahim, your struggle should not be for country, race and religion - it should only be for your country. Now you know what happens when you rely on race and religion.

Ultimately, and in this country, it is the accumulation of power and wealth among family and cronies that matters most. All others, including the rakyat and you, are forgotten.

Kolopilah: I followed your rise in the Umno Wanita hierarchy and it has astounded me to see you as the current Umno Wanita deputy chief.

You're courageous, very vocal but unfortunately, Umno Wanita is not the place for you. It has never been but you had failed to realise this.

You have wasted years of toil and hard work. My anticipation was correct, in the end you're being discarded exactly like a soiled tissue paper.

So sorry sister, a choice is a gamble especially in politics and this time you lose. But it is never too late to open a new chapter in your life because life can be full of surprises.

Rakyat1234: Kak Kamilia, your grievance is understandable. But why did it take so long for you to realise this?

The writing was very clear when Najib took over the Women’s Ministry after your chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil resigned following the Cowgate scandal. He should have appointed you in her place, but Najib did not.

It is time for you to support Pakatan. Look at the number of women candidates that Pakatan has. All their women’s wings’ leaders are valued and given a place to contest. Jump now while there is time. Umno is a sinking ship.

Ong: She has good reason to be unhappy. Umno Wanita’s No 1 is already a condemned case and Kamilia, as the No 2, can be considered de facto Wanita chief.

So far there are no scandals linked to her. So how come a Wanita chief can get sidelined? From a neutral observer, it's totally illogical.

Could it be possible that she is sidelined because during the heat of the Cowgate controversy, she did not support her boss and instead suggested that it was not enough for Shahrizat to merely step down as a federal minister, but further suggested that Shahrizat should also retire as head of Umno Wanita and BN Wanita?

Sa tombs: Kamilia, this is what happens in Umno where a clique system operates. You know who ditched you and like her, don’t crow about religion, race and country. This about the country, full stop.

If you talk about religion, are you only seeking Muslim votes? And if you talk about race, are you not against your leaders’ 1Malaysia slogan?

So think carefully before you make such speeches. The non-Malays may vote for you irrespective of the political divide, if you put the country first.

Yap CS: Kamilia, your leader Najib has already said there is no need for a women's movement in Bolehland. Were you deaf? Better ‘gulung tikarlah’, or better still, join Pakatan where they are always fighting for the downtrodden and disadvantaged.

888: Once again, selfishness or self-interests rears its ugly head in politics. It happens in Umno, MCA, and even in Pakatan. I always suspect our politicians are in the game to advance their self-interest. It’s true, just look at this deputy Wanita chief.

Appum: Kamilia, this is politics. You backed and worked for the wrong horse. Najib, who is in desperation, cannot see clearly and he has no more wisdom.

It has been known that in all general elections, Umno depends a lot on the Wanita wing to bring in the votes, working from house to house, whilst the ‘abangs’ drink coffee and smoke in the kopitiams.

Now a confused Najib wants to sleep with Hindraf, a new gal in the block, and is forgetting the makciks in Wanita. Hindraf’s coffee is the new blend and its aroma will sweep you away. "Nambikei" is the new slogan for Wanita to swallow.

Bijan: With the top two women in Umno - Wanita chief Shahrizat and Kamilia - out of GE13, it shows BN chief Najib doesn't recognise the women's wing’s hard work.

And yet Najib still wants to continue as the incumbent women’s minister. Kamilia, just jump ship and bring your wing's people to throw their support to Pakatan. I am sure if Pakatan wins, they will recognise the women’s effort.

Well Thats Fantastic: All in BN are looking for rewards for themselves, not to serve the rakyat. It’s hilarious that they have held on to power for this long with this attitude.

Fair Play: Poetic justice, isn't it? Umno is pulling out all stops to destroy DAP, but it is self-destructing from within.
