Election Commission (EC) deputy chairperson Wan Ahmad Wan Omar has reiterated his intention to hold a private meeting with PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli over the electoral fraud allegations.

He told Sinar Harian that as an elected representative, the newly-minted Pandan MP should build good rapport with the EC.

"It is better for me to meet him (Rafizi) face-to-face because there were many complaints and allegations by him; no need to have dialogues or forums," Wan Ahmad was quoted as saying.

NONE "I'm prepared to hear his complaints. If they are related to technical problems, I would arrange with the particular department to explain matters to him; if they are related to the policies of the EC, I could explain them."

Wan Ahmad was responding to the various allegations Rafizi ( right ) made over electoral fraud and irregularities.

Yesterday, Rafizi - who is heading PKR's electoral fraud investigation team dubbed, '#siasatPRU13' - had suggested that Wan Ahmad attend a forum to be held soon to answer the allegations.

On another report published yesterday in Sin Chew Daily , Wan Ahmad insisted that the photograph showing a blackout occurring at a polling station during vote counting was fabricated after the election.

He pointed out eight suspicious parts in the photograph, including the standing positions of the individuals did not follow set procedures and the police personnel present should be outside the classroom, standing.

The torch light shown in the photograph is also different from the one prepared by the EC, and no report was lodged within 24 hours of polling day, he added.

'Why was the same photo used?'

He also questioned why the same photograph was used to allege that the blackout also happened in the parliamentary constituency of Bentong and other polling centres in Johor and Selangor.

Earlier, PAS' Sri Serdang assemblyperson Noor Hanim Ismail had come out to prove that the photograph was taken by her polling agent at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Serdang polling centre in her constituency.

NONE In another media report published today, Wan Ahmad ( left ) has rejected a suggestion to include voters' photographs in the electoral roll.

He was reported by Berita Harian today as saying that this is because there is limited space in the electoral roll and that Malaysia's identification system is already the "most sophisticated" in the country.

"If we use photographs which are too small in the electoral roll, then it would have no impact in facilitating the identification of a voter.

"The suggestion is also not suitable since the MyKad is already in use, and individuals' faces can be checked against the photograph on the MyKad," he was quoted by the daily as saying.

Manoj Kurup - who is the conducting officer for the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) into the issue of illegal immigrants in Sabah - had made this suggestion during Tuesday's proceedings.

He had argued that this could be done since the EC already has access to voters' photographs through the a link-up system (Alis) with the National Registration Department (NRD).
