Sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee, who were freed today after posting bail of RM30,000, each, said their stay in detention was "all right".

“Not bad,” said a smiling Tan briefly when met outside the court by reporters who asked about their stay in prison.

NONE Asked about his eight-day stay in Sungai Buloh prison under remand while Lee was held at the Kajang prison, Tan continued to smile.

Lee, meanwhile remained quiet, and lowered her head to avoid photographers who were taking pictures of the pair.

Tan and Lee were brought to the bail centre of the High Court in Kuala Lumpur at 10am to sign their bond before being released.

Twenty minutes later after the paperwork, they left the premises in separate vehicles.

Yesterday, the High Court set bail of RM10,000 for each of the three charges against Tan and Lee as a condition for their release, along with several restrictions that included the impounding their passports.

T NONE hey were charged under Section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act 1948, with making a seditious posting on their 'Alvin and Vivian - Alvivi’ Facebook site by uploading a photograph of themselves eating bak kut teh with the greeting ‘ Selamat Berbuka Puasa with bak kut teh ... fragrant, delicious and appetising’, together with the ‘halal’ logo.

The second charge is on the same matter under Section 298A of the Penal Code.

The third charge is under subsection 5(1) of the Film Censorship Act 2002 for displaying pornographic pictures of themselves on their Tumbler between July 6 and 7, a stunt that had earned them infamy as 'sex bloggers'.
