) as saying that the film had portrayed history without adding or fabricating any events for the sake of commercialising the film.
"I am confident with the message which was delivered in the film and even though it might be bitter, any effort that guides people to goodness must be encouraged,” he was quoted as saying after watching the film in Segamat.
Meanwhile, the broadsheet also quoted Tanda Putera director Shuhaimi Baba as saying that the film has actually found takers among the younger generation.
"This time, there is a great reception for a historical film. In fact, even the younger generation are more interested to watch a film with few commercial elements like Tanda Putera," she was quoted as saying after a screening of the movie in Sabah.
"For me, I am satisfied with the collection of the film and it has almost reached our target in the first four days of screening," she added.
She also claimed that the film gives a "positive impact" to historical-themed movies in the film industry.
Meanwhile, one of the film's stars, Zizan Nin, claimed that many of his fans were from the younger generation and they had supported the film and were happy with the film.
Zizan played former deputy prime minister Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman in the film.
