Police have nabbed six Umno Youth members, including Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii, over the demonstration outside the DAP headquarters last week.

The six were detained at the Wangsa Maju police district headquarters and was released on bail about 9pm, after seven hours of questioning.

They are being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

Those detained included Gulam Muzaffar Gulam Mustakim (Federal Territories Youth information chief), Rizalman Mokhtar (Bandar Tun Razak division chief) and Johari Yazid (Cheras Youth chief).

They were among 50 Umno Youth members who demonstrated outside the DAP headquarters in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, over a remark made by Penang DAP assemblyperson RSN Rayer.

They had threatened to torch the DAP building if the contentious remark is repeated and damaged the party's signboard.

Mohd Razlan also tore up the memorandum the group was supposed to submit to the DAP and threw it at DAP's Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming's face.

They were upset that Rayer, who is DAP's Seri Delima assemblyperson, had called Umno "celaka" (damned) while debating in the Penang state legislative assembly.

Speaking to Malaysiakini after his release, Mohd Razlan said the police action has not deterred their resolve.

"We will abide by the law. We are not guilty (of breaching the law) in holding the demonstration and police investigations will not wane our spirits.

"We hope for support from all who were slighted by Rayer's remarks," he said.

The Pudu demonstration took place a day after a group, including Umno Youth members, stormed the Penang assembly over the "celaka" remark.

The group also damaged the assembly building gate and flags.

According to Bernama , investigations into the incident last Wedneday is "95 percent complete" after statements were taken from 27 witnesses.
