PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim must also resign over the party election imbroglio, said former Penang deputy chief minister Mohd Fairus Khairuddin.

He said it was hilarious that there are calls for Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to quit but not for Anwar to do the same.

The former PKR MP noted that while Khalid has been accused of mismanaging the state, Anwar, however, has failed to manage the party.

The fact is, he said, the situation in Selangor is not as convoluted as the party.

He added that what is happening in PKR is far more embarrassing than the problems in the state administration.

"It must be remembered that Anwar is not only the de facto leader of PKR but also the Selangor economic adviser.

"So if Khalid is being pressed to leave, what about Anwar?” he was quoted as asking in Umno Online .

"The haywire situation in the PKR elections is not new, it happened the last time as well.

"Unfortunately, this time it is far worse and embarrassing to the point that some members want to drag the party to court. So who should be responsible for this?" he added.
