M'sians come together only in times of adversity

YOURSAY ‘We can live in harmony. We don’t need disaster to do us in, do we?’

'No forgiveness for MH17 culprits, only justice'

J Ng: Congratulation to PM Najib Razak and to all MPs for the solidarity in condemnation on the barbaric act of shooting down Malaysia Airlines MH17.

However, the comments and suggestions from the Rantau Panjang MP Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff is not only sickening and illogical. She put the Islamic religion in bad light with her assumption that innocents lost their lives due to God’s wrath.

She is shallow and dumb to say that this is act of God. Sad but true. It is these so-called 'pious' followers who have created a bad name for Islam.

Myrights: Indeed, another idiot from PAS blaming Allah for the bombing of MH17. Some politicians are too stupid to even realise how moronic their comments are.

It really reflects on the quality of education and level of intelligence we have in Malaysia, probably because our education system is so screwed up.

By Siti Zailah's logic, planes from US airlines, European airlines and other developed nations should be first to crash. Why did Allah target MAS instead?

And, how would she explain that Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, would decide to end the lives of innocent victims, just because an airline serves alcohol and the uniform of flight attendants deemed too tight?

How would she explain the Tsunami in 2004 that wiped out about 200,000 people from Indonesia, which is predominantly Muslims? Stupidity among some of the politicians in Malaysia has no bounds.

Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: After Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman, now we have another idiot also from PAS, Siti Zailah, who said those who died in MH17 should not die in sin.

If the Muslims don’t want to drink alcohol, so be it but do not forget MAS flies all around the world and there are lots of foreign travellers who drink alcohol. What’s wrong with that?

PAS or any Muslim extremists must not forget that in this world there are the good non-Muslims as well and that the world is also meant for them. So PAS, please grow up and don’t be so narrow minded.

Survivor: It’s only in adversity that we talk with the same tone and the same tenacity. How we wish the extreme views of some of our NGOs be kept at bay at all times and not just for now only.

Malaysia can live in harmony. We do not need disaster to do us in, do we?

Unlike former chief justice Abdul Hamid Mohamad, let's all (Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Taoists) pray for the souls of the victims, and the peace and tranquility of their love ones who are mourning.

May God aka Allah bless this beautiful land of Malaysia

Malaccan: So this is what Parliament looks like when mature human beings debate national issues. Of course, there are some who lost the plot and took potshots at their rivals.

But these are the ones who lacked stature in the first place and tried to gain prominence by such means. Their discourse expose their small minds and even smaller hearts.

The MH17 incident, like MH370, is a national tragedy. It breaks the hearts of all Malaysians. Questions need to be asked, and answered. Improvements need to be suggested and made.

If we are to recover from this intact, the nation need to ensure the matter is given the fullest attention and transparency. No grandstanding, nor unfounded condemnation.

I am heartened by the classy act of leaders who can acknowledge one another despite their differences.

Anticonmen: What’s the point of praising Najib for 'negotiating' the release of the bodies and the black box when there is no need to 'negotiate' in the first place?

The Russian separatists have to release these in any case to the right people and all you need to do is to identify yourself as the owner of the plane. Does that need negotiating skill?

Kawak: I find MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong disgusting.

This parliamentary session is convened to let all Malaysian lawmakers, irrespective of their political differences, to condemn the criminal act of those responsible for murdering 298 innocent civilians on board MH17, including MAS crew.

Instead, Wee chose to take the opportunity to whack the opposition over a fake tweet and refused to apologise.

MCA is only brave when attacking the opposition but behave like a mouse when confronting Umno/Perkasa/Isma.

Everyone has given credit to Najib for getting the remains of the victims and black boxes back from the Ukranian rebels. He also said that "geopolitical conflicts" benefit nobody. "People only suffer further from this,” he added.

Najib should apply the same maxim back home. If he allows racists and religious bigots to create conflicts in Malaysia, only the rakyat will suffer.

He should also look deep into himself whether there are unseen hands using certain NGOs to promote and provoke racial and religious tension in Malaysia.
