Enrol in 'democracy school', Isma tells Lim

Boonpou: I have many issues with the statement made by this representative of Isma, but let me limit myself to just one.

Let me make it really simple so that this simpleton could understand.

Here is my question. Does Isma understand what is democracy? I am not even suggesting that you read philosophical texts as clearly you are incapable of doing so.

Don't speak of democracy when what you have been voicing and acting are actions that are absolutely against it. Simply put, what is your position on the Sedition Act?

Don't make yourself into a joke. Please understand this truth, and an absolute truth. We, the majority of Malaysians do not live within the same time and civilisation as you folks from Isma, or for that matter,Perkasa and so on.

The last time I checked, we are living in the 21st century. Which century are you living in? Stone Age, Dark Ages, Medieval Ages, Taliban Age?

Speak for all: Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia president (Isma) Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman is just doing the job required by the paymasters that is Umno, so why blame this poor guy who sells goreng pisang in Bangi, Selangor in the evening.

If he is so intelligent, I don't think he will be selling goreng pisang.

Ipohcrite: DAP has always pledged its unconditional support for the constitution that provides for the special position of bumiputras and recognises Islam as the religion of the federation.

Isma should educate itself and its members on the constitution and not re­interpret its provisions to suit its own agenda.

Meow Meow Poona kutty: Abdullah Zaik you are the best politician and NGO. You have done an excellent job to unite the various races Chinese, Indians and Malays.

You will be remembered in History for been vocal to unite the various races. You should be rewarded by the PM. I hope you can also get your Datukship or maybe a Tan Sri.

Through your untiring effort Malaysians of various races will live in harmony. Please do continue with your effort. You are doing a fine job.

Basically: Isma should give the lecture to Najib and Umno, and explain why only Zaik gets to hold his sedition case while others like Ali Abd Jalil has to run for his life.

It's rich to have a lecture on democracy from a bunch of clowns who would not let Borneo Christians call their god Allah as they have been calling their god for a hundred years.

Negarawan: "If the DAP is not an extreme, chauvinistic party, please announce your support for Islam as the federal religion and that you accept the special rights of the Malays, the rulers, as well as the status of the bumiputera.

If you don’t do so, you are the one affecting the country’s harmony and triggering chaos. You are the one who is extreme," Abdullah said.

The true religion of the federation is one that promotes peace, harmony, and deep understanding among Malaysia's multiracial and multireligious society.

Umno/Perkasa/Isma's brand of Islam is one that promotes hatred, disunity, deep division, and chaos among all Malaysians. The Malays, Indians, Chinese, Kadazans, Bidayuhs, Sikhs, and all races in Malaysia have the special rights to work hard and diligently for their personal success and progress of our country.

Umno/Perkasa/Isma on the other hand want special rights to be the lord of the land, not through diligence and hard work, but by political force and extremist threats.

Swipenter: It has come to a stage in Bolehland where religious bigots can say anything with impunity by invoking the name of their religion.

The day might come that they feel they can do anything using the same excuse. Does a federal religion means that that religion is superior to other faiths? Certainly no.

The answer is obvious for all to see in the behavior and actions of their adherents. However it cannot be said that it is true reflection of its true teachings.

True teachings can be degraded over time by its own clerics hankering for fame, position, worldly desires and selfish interests.

However, still the greatness of any religion is reflected in the behavior and actions of their adherents. This is true for all religions more so the organized ones.

Fair Play: Penang CM Lim Guan Eng is a heavyweight in Malaysian politics and he has gone through the baptism of fire to be where he is today.

Now, who is Abdullah Zaik? And why should LGE give him the 'recognition' by engaging him at all. No doubt in Abdullah Zaik's mind, his claim to 'fame' will rise considerably even if LGE stole a glance at him to acknowledge his presence.

Relevancy ­ freedom of speech is to allow different views to the point of abusive, threats, violence and communal hatred, then freedom is not the precise word one should use.

So often ISMA has been telling detractors, "do not challenge...". So what and which version of Freedom of Speech is ISMA preaching?

Vijay47: Actually it might be a good idea if Guan Eng did go to a class on democracy. Abdullah would be in the same class ­ he would be the guy standing in the corner with a dunce­cap on his head.
