Negarawan: A minority government which capitalises on fictitious and explicit sexual accusations, trumped-up charges, and all manner of deceit to maintain power, is not blessed by God.

I have stopped my children from watching the local news because it is filled with sex and filth, and is not healthy for young children.

Umno's dirty and corrupt politics have given the following impressions to the public and international community: Malaysians have low sexual moral standards, are corrupt in nature, narcissistic, and like to portray themselves as religious but are hypocrites.

Umno has not only caused major embarrassment for the whole nation, but for the Malays and Islam.

We need a new government which is clean and has high moral and ethical standards, to bring back the honour and glory of our country. A country for all Malaysians, irrespective of race, color, or creed.

Loveforpeace: Pollsters might ridicule PM Najib Razak with the results of their surveys. That doesn't mean that PM is not doing well.

The higher cost of living is the choice made by the Malaysian people in order to enjoy the first world facilities. Only those with third world mentalities will criticise Najib.

And Merdeka Centre is a third world pollster indeed.

Thana55: Merdeka Centre has proven to be a respected pollster. The 1,500 sample size is adequate to give a robust findings and the selection of the sample has a strict criteria such that when extrapolated will reflect the Malaysian psyche.

Even without this survey, we all know Najib is not at all popular. In fact of the 48 percent favourable to him, I bet that half of them gave a politically correct answer and not their real feeling about Najib. My read is that his popularity is 25 percent at most.

Chipmunk: Najib = Nato (No Action, Talk Only).

The only PM who goes on a mission to visit Netherlands on the pretext of finding out more about MH17 but takes a detour to Thailand (before going to Amsterdam) and a detour to Europe (after Netherlands) and then disappears like MH370 before suddenly coming back to Malaysia nine days later.

And only under his administration can we find both the PM and DPM out of the country at the same time.

Vincylim: We have heard much from the Merdeka Center saying that the PM popularity has declined based on their survey, but can we rely on their findings? I don't think so.

Let's look at the big picture - Malaysia was recently voted as a non-permanent member in the UN Security Council. It's a big recognition of the Najib administration.

This week, Malaysia was placed 18th among 189 countries in ease of conducting businesses and fourth in Asia ahead of Japan. I think this is a big boost for Najib's leadership.

So why bothered about such a survey?

Abasir: Actually we are being too hard on Najib. After all, isn't he the only compassionate prime minister we have had?

After all, he had invited a dropout to his residence to discuss 'a scholarship' two days before the said dropout claimed to have dropped his pants before the opposition leader.

Rosmah's Permata praised globally, says MP

Kingfisher: It is amusing to read that the President of Zambia and the Queen of Qatar have commended the Permata project.

PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor must be mighty pleased to have such illustrious acknowledgment for what perhaps is thought of as an "elitist" focused and an unenlightened project.

And to gloat that this project will produce "children with mature thoughts ... not children who will bite policemen or protest in front of university gates" is seriously laughable and is indicative of the kind of default mindset of those who gloat over this project.

Once this ‘first’ lady leaves office then perhaps an objective analysis (both ethical and financial cost analysis ) may be made of the benefits and demerits of this project which going by the discussion and debates about transparency of funds, etc, is assuming notorious characteristics not conducive to the reputation of the founders. 

Jaycee: Having two heads of state singing praises does not represent the rest of the world.  If Rosmah "has a kind heart" how come no one has nominated her for the CNN Hero Award?    

J Ng: Charitable effort by whoever, Rosmah included, deserved recognition. Efforts by Rosmah in Permata should not be condemned without valid rationale.

However, all government-aided charitable organisation must be transparent with regards to its funding and expenditures.

Well Thats Fantastic: Give me that much money to do with as I please and I will have the world thinking I'm a saint.
