AUDIT REPORT Twenty ministries, departments and agencies in Sabah scored excellence in financial management, while 15 performed well and three, satisfactorily.

   

The State Treasury Department and Sabah State Secretary's Office have maintained their four-star status.

   

The Sabah Economic Development Corporation has risen above its three-star status in 2012 to 4-star.

   

The Islamic Religious Council has maintained its two-star status, according to the report tabled in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

   

M eanwhile, the report said the State National Audit Department which conducted spot checks at 13 departments found several weaknesses or non compliance of financial regulations.

  

The report also said that 36 of 44 financial statements were received from statutory bodies, Sabah 'Baitulmal' corporations and local authorities at the end of 2013.

   

Six statutory bodies including the Islamic Religious Council and two local authorities have not submitted their financial statements for 2013.

   

As of June 30, 2014, 43 financial statements comprising 14 for 2013, and 29 for 2010 and 2012 had been certified.

   

Thirty-nine had been certified without reprimand, while four with reprimand, said the report.

   

The report also said that 38 financial statements for 26 state agencies which had been certified, have not been tabled at the state legislative assembly as of June 30 this year.
