Controversial ring-wing group Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) today said that Malays feeling “threatened” about their future was a “healthy trait” to keep up with current political climates.

Its president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman said so on Isma’s online portal Ismaweb today in response to national laureate A Samad Said who had asked Malays not to be obsessed with claims that their place is under threat.

“What has happened to Pak Samad? Malays has been threatened for a long time,” Abdullah Zaik said.

“Does it still need proof? Malays used to be the biggest power in Nusantara, but now we had been colonialised, separated and had our lands taken,” he said.

He said that the biggest threat was the “colonisation of the mind” that Malays are suffering from.

“We are becoming the targets for powers that are becoming increasingly greedy,” he said.

What has happened to Malays over the years is “proof” that their place is under threat, he stressed.
