The 12 Selangor BN assemblypersons, who decided to reject the RM2.4 million allocation, should be thankful to the Pakatan Rakyat-led government, said the menteri besar today.

Azmin Ali said his government will still continue to give the RM200,000 to each BN assemblyperson. 

He also explained the BN assemblyperson will also get an additional RM500,000 from the state coordinator of each constituency.

"It is the same as each constituency receiving RM700,000. Only in the areas which we lost to BN, their assemblyperson will manage RM200,000 and the (state) coordinator will be given RM500,000," he said.

"Thus RM700,000 will be given to the people in the constituency. At least, they should be thankful to the state government."

Yesterday, state opposition leader Shamsudin Lias said the 12 BN representatives had decided to reject the RM200,000 annual allocation as they felt insulted.

Shamsudin who is also the Sungai Burong assemblyperson, said they were not allotted the same amount as their Pakatan counterparts, who received RM700,000. The allocation is part of the Mesra Rakyat programme.

Give correct facts, Azmin tells Khalid

Azmin also asked his predecessor Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to get his facts right before commenting on the 2015 state budget.

He emphasised that the state budget for the past six years under Khalid's tenure, had always been a deficit budget.

"He (Khalid) has not been tabling a balanced budget for the past six years. I advice Khalid to get his facts right," said the Selangor MB.

Azmin also said he could prove the figures to rebut Khalid's statement.

"If we were to compare on the estimated expenses and savings, there is excess. But if we draft the budget, we have to compare expenses and revenue," said Azmin, adding if revenue exceeds expenses, we have a surplus and if we have revenue less than expenditure, we have a deficit.

Yesterday, Khalid defended his state budgets in saying despite tabling supplementary supply bill, the budgets he had tabled are always a balanced budget and this is proven in the auditor-general report.
