: Looking at the photographs of Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azahar, one is left with an unnerving feeling as to how two normal-looking individuals could have been persuaded to blow up an allegedly pregnant lady with explosives.
And to think that the underlying motives for their actions were not deliberated in-depth during the entire criminal proceedings will always leave an unsatisfactory feeling in most ordinary people.
The ordinariness of the features of the two seems to belie the existence of a cold-blooded ruthless killer. Is this a consequence of their professional training and conditioning?
Yet one is left wandering if their actions were not motivated by adherence and subordination to a superior entity and promises of wealth.
It is obviously quite a complex legal tangle and not easily comprehensible to the ordinary person that a multi-millionaire who was initially responsible for soliciting their support to rid him of the pestering women was not implicated drastically.

In a ‘progressive’ country, the motive for a crime must be established as this is the precursor to the act of the crime itself.
In Malaysia, the courts for this particular case, the motive was not even investigated and people are wondering why so?
Any sensible judiciary would do so and once again this shows that in Malaysia, everything is possible.
Ben-ghazi: How can the learned judges accept the case without insisting on motive? Where did they all get their legal training from anyway?
This is a bizarre case, to say the least. Why are the people who issued the C4 not charged by the military court, when a smaller offence like making a public statement about the indelible ink in GE13 can cost a career?
These two guys could be set free after serving for some time and with a big pay cheque awaiting. Just like the late private eye P Balasubramaniam, there is big money involved, which would have tempted them.
Theirs was a calculated act. But alas one partner could not take it. If he cannot be extradited, he could turn rogue. He could reveal all in the Sunday Mirror for more bucks.
Surely the end is near in the name of justice. By now, the real culprits should be having nightmares every other night. They could be getting up in the middle of the night screaming.
As a God-fearing person, I cannot fathom how the culprits can get on with their lives like normal persons after such an evil deed.
Just as Macbeth begins to have horrible dreams after the murder of King Duncan; his mind is never free.
4Malaysia: It looks like Sirul is trying to escape the death penalty by hiding in Australia. If Sirul is not careful, he could be found dead one day mysteriously, or perhaps, an assassination.
If he knows how to play the game, he should already have "proxies" informed of the truth and ready to reveal them should anything happen to him.
Lin Wenquan: I see light at the end of the tunnel by this sudden twist in Sirul's fate. If he is so adamant about his innocence, this is the most opportune time and place for him to reveal the real 'masterminds' who ordered the killing since Australian law frowns on his extradition.
He may even make a small killing (pun intended) from his expose should a major newspaper thinks it has the scoop of the decade.
Unless, of course, Sirul is guilty of perpetrating this horrible crime with Azilah.
Kerana Benar: Indeed, Sirul can spill beans to expose who is behind the scheme to kill Altantuya.
Let the whole world know the motive of the murder and under whose instruction. There will be fireworks and interesting to see the truth unfolds.
KayL: In Mexico, a mayor and his wife were arrested for abetting with the local police and cartel gangsters to kidnap and murder 43 students who planned to protest at the mayor's wife's self-promoting ceremony.
Ninety-seven people have been arrested so far. They include 36 municipal police officers, other municipal officials, and numerous alleged members of the Guerreros Unidos cartel.
Similarly, will Malaysia's supposedly independent judiciary and police have the humanity to go after and punish all those involved, especially the powerful and high-ranking masterminds of Altantuya's murder?
Cascara: Perhaps Talentcorp can get Sirul to return. Malaysia needs C4 experts like him.
