The Selangor police today assured the public of their safety, that there was no need for anxiety on the spread of information in social websites on the incident of gang rivalry recently.
Selangor Criminal Investigation Department head Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the police had their own strategy in addressing the problem.
He advised the public to not believe in rumours, as well as information posted on social websites.
"They can create various speculations that will only worsen situation," he told reporters in Shah Alam today.
He said the two cases of a brawl reported in Teluk Panglima Garang and Banting the past one week involved gangsterism and police were investigating.
Police had so far arrested 11 men, including a Nepalese, aged between 19 and 34, for investigation in both cases, he added.
He said three of them, aged between 26 and 29, were detained for investigation into the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in an incident in Banting yesterday.
The three suspects were arrested at about 2.30 am today in Teluk Panglima Garang, he added.
Mohd Adnan said the other eight suspects, including the Nepalese, were arrested for investigation into the death of a 34-year-old man who was slashed in a fight in Teluk Panglima Garang last Wednesday.
