Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim today said the national football squad - dubbed Harimau Malaysia - should not use Johor players anymore.

Tunku Ismail, who is also the Johor Football Association president, said this in response to what he described as attempts to blame Johor players for Malaysia’s 6-0 crushing defeat to Palestine on home soil last night.

"There are some quarters who have blamed Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) players every time the national team loses badly.

"My advice to them, do not use JDT players to represent the national team in future.

"Instead, use more skilled players from other clubs," he said in a posting on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.

After the defeat yesterday, national team coach Dollah Salleh said his players gave up after they fell behind by three goals.

Dollah added he had wanted to enlist more young players for the game but many were unavailable as they were at the SEA games.

In January, Palestine also defeated JDT 4-1 in a friendly match in Sydney.
