PAS will sue the DAP-led Penang government for sacking its representatives in the local authorities.

Its state commissioner Fauzi Mohd Yusof said the party has instructed their lawyers to issue a letter of demand to defend the rights of the representatives, who had been removed, as well as to restore their dignity.

The state government has removed all representatives from PAS in state administration and municipal councils following the Islamic party's decision to cut ties with DAP, except for Salleh Man ( photo ), who holds the post of Penang Islamic Affairs Council president.

"We would have no problem if the removal was done in accordance with the standard operating procedure, but they did it at their own pleasure," he said as reported by Berita Harian .

"They just ruled the state for two terms but it has now become chaotic. This shows that the Penang DAP has failed to be a good administrator," he said.

Two local councillors, Mhd Nasir Yahya (former Penang Island City Councillor) and Dahalan Fazil (Seberang Perai Municipal Councillor), has resigned from their posts, based on principles.

Their move followed resignations from three other leaders - former PAS deputy chief Mohamed Sabu, former state deputy commissioner I Mujahid Yusof Rawa and former legal advisor in Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s office, Roshidi Hussain.

“Their principled stand will be remembered not only by the state but also by Penangites,” Lim ( photo ) quipped.

On June 18, the state government sacked all the PAS representatives, who have yet to resign.

"Do not take us lightly, we are politicians too. They should not do things as they like. They have to think of the consequences first," said Fauzi.
