Don't back DAP and PKR, NGO chief tells bankrupts

Ramesh Rao went from an unknown figure to landing in the media limelight after lodging a police report on a video confession which accused whistleblower website Sarawak Report and the opposition of fabricating evidence pertaining to 1MDB.

The confession was by former Sarawak journalist Lester Melanyi, who has come under intense attack, with detractors even focusing on his status as a bankrupt.

This prompted Ramesh to lash back at critics on Twitter , saying DAP and PKR look down upon those with debts and bankrupts.

"So I call on all those with debts and bankrupts not to support DAP and PKR," he said.

Ramesh, who is the president of Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin, also denied that he had received financial rewards from BN for exposing the video confession.

"If I received money from BN to do work, I would have been free from bankrupt status a long time ago. Why do you care, DAP and PKR," he said.

He said this in response to a document from the Insolvency Department, purportedly showing that he is bankrupt, being circulated on social media.

Continuing his Twitter tirade, the NGO leader also mocked supporters of PKR and DAP of being " Bersih macam Nabi (As pure as the prophet)".

"All PKR and DAP supporters are Bersih Macam Nabi ! Truth of Gospel! Bebas Dari Hutang (Free of debt)! Gampang punya orang (a foul term)," he added.

Sarawak Report editor Claire Rewcastle Brown and two opposition lawmakers implicated in the video confession - Rafizi Ramli and Tony Pua - have denied the allegation.

Rewcastle Brown also denied Lester's claim that he worked for Sarawak Report .

Yesterday, BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan also took a swipe at critics who trained their guns on Lester.

He had uploaded an image on Twitter which showed that there were no protests when the issue of tampering documents was raised by Thai police spokesperson Lt-Gen Prawut Thavornsiri and Protection Group International managing director Brian Lord, who was a former deputy director of CyberSecurity and Strategy of UK Government Communications.
