Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir arrived at former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin's house in Bukit Damansara Kuala Lumpur at 8.35pm today, further fuelling speculation as to where the former prime minister's son stands.

He then entered the house without speaking to the hordes of journalists who had gathered in front of the house since afternoon.

Five minutes before that, Muhyiddin ( photo ) came out for the first time to address the media and thanked everyone who supported him.

Clad in a blue shirt, Muhyiddin looked calm and smiled a bit at about 40 media personnel in front of him.

He said he will give full explanation at a press conference tomorrow morning.

"I have released my statement earlier and the media have reported it. I won't give out any new statements tonight.

"Tommorow at 11am I invite all the media to come and there I will answer and explain all the questions that the local and foreign media asked," he told the press.

Muhyiddin was dropped as deputy prime minister in the latest cabinet reshuffle unveiled by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Among the familiar faces seen through the day were Umno Cheras division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee, former PKR man Zulkifly Noordin and Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia president Abdul Kadir Syeikh Fadzir.

The atmosphere outside the house appears to be calm with many grassroots members and individuals seen going in and out since 1pm.

Kamalanathan visits former boss

At 10.55pm, Deputy Education Minister P Kamalanathan arrived, making him the first appointee in Najib's line-up to visit Muhyiddin.

Meanwhile, Kadir who left the house a few minutes before Kamalanathan arrived said that Muhyiddin was calm and collected.

"I don't think he will leave (Umno)," he said, adding that by dropping Muhyiddin, Umno will become weaker.

"Yes, people who are known to be corrupt are elected again as full ministers. Very little care has been given to the feeling of rakyat," Kadir ( photo) said without naming who the corrupt ministers are.

He said the people will analyse and judge the new cabinet line-up and will be very disappointed when they see leaders without integrity appointed as ministers.

At 11.05pm, Mukhriz was seen walking out but he refused to comment on the meeting he had with Muhyiddin.

"I've got no comment, thank you," he said, smiling at the journalists.

When asked about whether his father, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohammad, would come to visit Muhyiddin, Mukhriz responded: "Ask my father yourself."

At almost midnight, Kamalanathan ( photo ) emerged but he also declined to comment on Muhyiddin's sacking from the cabinet.

"I just came to wish him well and all the best because he has helped me a lot since the Hulu Selangor by-election in 2010.

"I thanked him for all the guidance he has given me. He has a lot of experience as an education minister since 2009. So I just came to thank him," he said.
