AG officer's termination contractual, says Apandi

Attorney-General (AG) Mohamad Apandi Ali said the termination of Attorney-General's Chambers officer Jessica Gurmeet Kaur was according to her terms of service.

Apandi told The Star Jessica, who is a Singaporean with a permanent residency was merely on contract.

"Jessica was a contract officer and her contract of service was terminated as per the terms of the contract.

"That is all I can say at the moment. No further comment,” Apandi was reported saying to The Star.

Yesterday, it was reported that Jessica, who is facing possible deportation, will challenge her termination and also the revocation of her PR status through a judicial review in the coming days.

It was revealed her application is also to be accompanied by an "explosive" affidavit .

It is understood that she complained of being hunted and trailed by the authorities.

On Thursday night, it was reported that Jessica, who was head of administration and finance for the special task force secretariat investigating the 1MDB saga, would from the secretariat.

Malaysiakini had to verify from three different sources concerning her termination and revocation of her PR status.

A source in the AG’s Chambers confirmed that Jessica’s contract with the chambers had been terminated.

The Singaporean, along with former Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission adviser Rashpal Singh were picked up by the police late in the night of Friday, July 31.

This followed an alleged leak of a charge sheet against Prime Minister Najib Razak in relation to the 1MDB probe, and was reported by whistleblower site Sarawak Report .
